3M Scotch Mount Double-Sided Extreme Mounting Tape

This is likely the worst double-sided tape I have ever encountered. - the backing is difficult to remove, although not impossible - it has failed in almost every situation I've used it - being plastic-plastic and plastic-metal. It has only worked for plastic-glass. In all cases I was only holding up less than 100 grams and used 3cm to 10cm of tape, so well above the required tape length.

This tape works wonderful. It has a very sticky double-sided tape which adheres tightly to both sides. It is very sturdy holds heavy products. This tape is waterproof and stays gets stuck when it gets wet.

I watched all the videos and tried various methods to apply to my job. Nothing worked. It applies easily to the object but it is impossible to take off the second side. You'll be wasting your money buying this product buy something that has a distinctly different material for a backing so it will be possible to remove the backing.

Not a single method described above really works. If you get lucky after a half hour, you have already half of the (expensive) tape wasted. It is unbelievable that a company like 3M found a solution for this nuisance..

I used 3M VHB tapes before with success so was looking forward to trying this out, but unfortunately it did not hold. I tried using this to add some hooks to the trunk of my car and while it did hold for a week or two, it eventually failed and the hooks fell (the included photo is of the replacement product used to illustrate what the vision was). I'm not sure what caused the failure -- whether it was the material it was supposed to adhere to or repeated stress on it when bags were attached (the hooks were not meant to hang heavy bags off of, but rather to hold bags in place so they don't shift around, so that may have been too much for the tape). Perhaps for something that doesn't have repeated stress on it (just hanging something in a stationary position) I would have had better results.

This Scotch-Mount™ Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Tape is so awesome! I use this tape in so many ways. Its so strong to hold up to 10 pounds and it is water resistant. Its great for crafts which I use this a lot for that. I highly recommend this product!

I received Scotch Mount Extreme Double-Sided Mounting Tape in exchange for my honest review. The tape itself is black, although the sticker paper protecting the sticky side is red. It is about 1mm thick and very sticky. I used it to supplement the items hanging in my home, from lightweight paper to a 5lb branch ornament in the bathroom. It is holding well, even with the water, and humidity in the bathroom. I plan to use it outside, as well, for my winter projects, and have no doubt it will hold well! If you plan to use a lot of it, I would stock up. I highly recommend it!

I received this product for purposes of providing a review. So far, I love it! It’s easier to cut to make custom sizes and the stickiness appears to be as strong as advertised. I have not yet put something heavy up with it (though I plan to after painting my door to put up decor), but I used it to mount a surge protector on the side of my nightstand. Being able to cut it meant I could use the perfect size. I have plugged more things into it since this picture but it is holding strong. There have been no issues with the holding power

Tried this gel double-sided tape and it works great. Super strong hold, easy to remove with minimal damage, and even reusable after a quick rinse. Perfect for small projects or hanging stuff without nails.

What a great product! This roll of double sided tape is a great thickness. It can hold a mind blowing 30 pounds! And it can be used inside or outside. Move over duct tape, this is my new go to tape for mounting.
