This Kettle is horrible do not buy is you can not pore the water out of is properly

I just bought this kettle after looking to get it for ages and the pouring is terrible. It dribbles and splashes out variably and takes forever to pour. There is also a metal lip that catches water. Quite dangerous, will be returning and buying a different kettle. I just don't get how it passed checks.

It was fantastic for about two years. Then some buttons wouldn’t work and last night it started making strange sounds and it’s time for a new kettle. Would expect more than 4 years from such an expensive kettle.

Love the smart kettle however this one does not pour as nicely as the stainless-steel bodied version, let's hope the lid lasts longer though.

The kettle itself looks nice but the water just doesn't come out of the spout properly when we pour water

It's a nice kettle overall. I have had a breville kettle before, but went for the clear breville kettle this time round. It's a bit taller and heavier than the other 1.7 breville kettle I had. I like how you can see at a quick glance how much water you have in the kettle. The only thing that I didn't think about is that once you boil the water you will obviously will have the condensation afterwards. Of course that can't be helped, but thought I would mention it as if you didn't want to see this then this kettle would not be for you.

This is a lovely kettle and does everything it says it will. However I have reduced the score as there is a small issue with the rate of pour which starts very slowly and increases without tilting further, but then surges as you lower the kettle. I believe it may be due to no entrainment of air during pour. So far this has only caused water to spill onto the kitchen surface but could cause scalding.

It is as I expected, works better than very well and easy to handle! Looks GREAT, we luv it very much! Regards, Istvan

Been thinking of the clear kettle for a long time. Really love it!

Original kettle shape was better for pouring and there wasn't the need to lift the lid to get a better flow of water, condensation in kettle stays all day. The rounded kettle was better ergonomically.

Boils water like a Kettle should, even when you don't want a full rolling boil it's go you covered...

Looks good and works really well. Feels sturdy and good quality. The only thing to mention is that the pour is a little slow.

Very happy with my purchase. The kettle looks great and works well. As I drink a lot of green tea the temperature options are brilliant.

Excellent unit & exceeded expectations. The controls are excellent & intuitive & we have hardly needed to consult the manual. Beautifully packed & an Australian company & though not made in Australia is a quality unit & to date has performed to our expectations. We are two so it has a large capacity & my wife complained it is a bit heavy,… an easy fix! Fill it to your requirements (There are clear markings on the glass.),.. Problem solved, thank you Breville, David & Maria. PS My wife selected it, mainly because it is clear & has the multi-temperature settings.

I brought this on Qantas market place a few weeks ago to replace an old Breville BKE830CLR 1.7L which had a chipped glass spout. What a disappointing replacement. This is a case where style defeats functionality. Very poor water delivery from the stainless steel spout, not able to judge the water pouring into the cup as it will splash onto the bench as you lift up. Closer examination of the kettle reveals an internal ledge which interferes with the water delivery, is this the cause? Breville has failed to deliver a smart kettle, in fact it is an expensive dud.

My favorite is the “Keep Warm” feature. It boils water quicker than my old kettle. Overall a great buy!

To start with, it is a fantastic kettle. Doing your research though, it beeps, very loud. might sound like not something to worry about. but the thing beeps. it beeps on every button (including the temperature ones), it beeps when you start, it beeps when it stops (3 times in fact). You pick it up... with your hands looking at it, it beeps, you put it down (presumably while looking at it) it beeps again. You tube will tell you how to fix it with a screwdriver and about 10 minutes. then it is a fantastic machine.

This is a beaut kettle!

Pretty designed kettle. But after just over 2 yrs of use.. problems starts to appear. It starts to over boil for extended time before shutting off. Then the lid stops soft opening and just last week one lid plastic Hinge broke. Good product design and would hope Breville make improvements to these 2 areas. Really hope I can find replacement parts but only thing I see is the tea filter. Bit disappointed.

A further handsome addition to our new kitchen easy to use and to clean.

Nice kettle, but find the pouring spout a bit of an issues with sieve type holes rather than a more open spout like the older all metal version. It's not quite as easy to control the flow

Excellent item, wonderful customer service. I’ve bought several of these kettles for friends and family and highly recommend.

Excellent jug/kettle. Boils water reasonably quickly. Clear glass allows you to see how much water there is and how dirty/clean the inside of the jug is. Glass is strong so can take a few knocks, but a hard hit would break it. Buttons on the base are good. Everything is excellent. One improvement would be a digital temperature LED display so you could see what the current temperature is or if a reboil is required.
