Quality blender, I like how the motor starts slowly then gradually increases in speed to make my smoothie when fully blended the motor stops. Easy to clean, looks good on my counter and yes the jug is heavy but but I didn’t want plastic, glass is easier to keep clean, you have to pay extra for quality.
Blenders get a real workout in my house and I've been through more than a few. I am notorious for wearing through the bearings in the blade assembly and have tried 'commercial' blenders but could never justify the $$ for the high end replacement blade set so have been settling with replacing cheap clones that needed constant replacement. When my most recent blender needed a new motor coupling which couldn't be replaced because the model was discontinued, I had to find a new one. I have long thought that what I really needed was a blender designed on the principle of a food processor. Well, who else could you expect to to design the just that than the inventors of the food processor. I LOVE my new magimix power blender. It has a blade assembly that I can completely deconstruct and service (by cleaning and carefully oiling the shaft) for virtually nothing (but I am an engineer so wouldn't necessarily recommend everyone do this - but most households wouldn't be putting it through its paces like we do either). It's much quieter than any of the commercial blenders or their clones. And it has POWER to burn. It makes anything you can throw at it into a smooth puree in seconds. The famous "professional" blender that everyone wants relies on speed - this machine uses torque to do the same job but IMHO it does it way better. In terms of blend performance, I can't fault it. Some blenders I've owned in the past would make the 'bulk' of what I was blending silky smooth but leave random unblended chunks in the mix. Others would be more consistent but grainy. Magimix has optimised this machine to give perfect results every time, usually within seconds (some more challenging mixes might take a second one-minute blend to perfect). Another outstanding feature of the blend is that stuff you're blending doesn't heat up nearly as much as it does with other blenders. Great for super cold smoothies! I also absolutely love the glass jug and the fact that the base is designed to come off easily for cleaning. The base is also solid stainless steal. There's nowhere for ugly smells (or nasty gunk/germs) to take root which has to be one of the best features of this machine from a general user perspective. An outstanding feature of its operation is that it has a true slow start. The first time I pressed "go" I thought there might be something wrong with the motor but then I realised that this was a design feature and a very good one at that. It means that you don't get bits of your smoothie or sauce splattered all over the walls of the jug instead of being blended into your smoothie. I had another blender that claimed this feature years ago and it did the opposite of what it was supposed to. Magimix have really nailed this feature! The blending in general is so tame that there's no worries opening up the little gap in the lid to add ingredients - other blenders I've had would manage to spray my kitchen walls when I tried this with some of my recipes. I also got the optional mill attachment which is much easier to clean and operate than most coffee/spice mills I've owned. If you like to grind your own spices or coffee I'd definitely recommend it as well. The only downside for some would be the weight of the jug but that is also a plus because it sits so firmly on the base that you don't need to be holding the jug down while the thing blends - not even at start up. I bought a magimix food processor in 2000 and it is still going strong. I expect this blender to do the same, or even better. I'm also very impressed with customer service. I live remote so had to do the whole transaction online. There was a small issue with the first unit I received and customer service organised a swap for me quickly and easily. Overall an amazing experience and a awesome product!
When searching for a new blender I saw how good the reviews were. Overall very happy with my purchase. So many settings and I like the cleaning option. I would recommend.
