Purple Snake Oil

This product is advertised as having colour correcting technology to help neutralize yellow tones in teeth. Having used it for several months I can say, it has a great taste and does exactly the same great cleaning job Colgate Triple Action does. However, the colour correcting claim is so negligible as to not know if it has any effect at all. And as someone else pointed out, it stains white sinks blue. So only 2 stars. Colgate makes great toothpaste, but this one to me is a marketing gimmick. Will go back to Triple Action after I finish the tube.

Left me with sore tongue and gums

I have used Colgate toothpaste all my life without any allergic reaction or sensitivity. The purple toothpaste has left what feels like a chemical burn on my tongue and gums. It took me a few days to figure out it was the toothpaste causing the problem. First thing I noticed was that my mouth became extremely sensitive to spicy food. Then after a couple of days it began stinging when I brushed and my mouth was inflamed immediately after brushing.

Stains your basin- think twice

Don’t buy this!! It stains your basin! It does not come off! I know have a blue hue in the sink…

Stains acrylic basins

Tastes okay and it's a novel colour, as it is when it turns blue. Hard to judge whether it's made a difference to the whiteness of my teeth but it sure has made a difference to the whiteness of my basin. I cannot get the blue colour stain out of the acrylic no matter what I use. Did you test it on acrylic basins?

Cool and fresh!

I actually live in the northern hemisphere but always buy multiples of this when I visit down under. I don’t really care for the whitening, it's all temporary anyway in my opinion. But it's the best-tasting Colgate there is.

Leaves blue stains.

Purchased a few weeks ago and my biggest issue is the blue staining on my sink and my clothes. I have permanent blue staining on my singlet that has not come out in the wash due to it being very foamy. It's not something you should really ever have to worry about when brushing your teeth!
