Sturdy, I have a heavier BlueYeti Blackout microphone with a shock-mount and this arm supports it with ease. No annoying jiggle or tension springs. The only gripe I have is that only 2 of the 3 joints have vertical adjust-ability, but that's probably not an issue if you're using standard mics.
