Audio-Technica ATH-M40x Monitor Over-Ear Headphones (Black)

Flimsy. Faux leather deteriorates quickly. I had to glue mine back together after the hinge broke on the left ear. They sound good. No arguement there but the build is less than durable. Search for better options is my ultimate recommendation.

Great sound and fit. I use them in the studio every day.

Very comfortable with good sound. The bass response could have been better, but still pretty good. Overall, very satisfied.

Much prefer the lossless clarity of wired headphones over the compression sound of wireless, these Audio Technica headphones have brilliant base and clarity at any volume highly recommended.

Brilliant pair of headphones. I've never owned noise cancelling ones before and the quality of these with all the extra sounds I can hear in my games and shows is incredible. The curled cable it comes with is my personal favourite as it allows some stretch and forgiveness when you pull back a bit too far. Just don't forget to install Logitech GHub, otherwise you'll end up with weird audio artifacts.

Great headphones comes with screw adaptor 3.5 inch stereo plug, flat and curly spring chord. Stereo plug locks into head phones.

There ok. They feel cheap. No case for the price. So there a stay at home headphone. As I don't want to crush them in my bag. But the drivers are good. Nice and flat frequencies I bit of a roll off on the high mid but not scooped like the m50x.

The detachable cables are a winner, the locking mechanism is perfect so it doesn’t fall out, great sound in the mid & high range but could use a little more in the lower end, great for plugging into an amp for guitar both acoustic and electric.

Listen to CDs on an old stereo where you can control the equalizer manually to get the best out of it! Or even the 360 reality audio and Dolby Atmos features on Apple music/Tidal!

Nice crisp sound re-production across the spectrum, quality piece of kit, would just prefer a bit thicker pads. Purchased because of all the other good reviews and am very happy with my choice.

Excellent sound for the price. Proper flat RA for sound mixing/design. Once I replaced the pads with denser deeper after market ones the bass improved just a touch making these cans great for general listening enjoyment too.

Bought these headphones after reading and watching many reviews. I must say they do live up to all the hype. Just about every piece of music I have sounds better through these headphones there is some that I will have to get better quality copies of, small price to pay to experience music this well.

I have always been an AKG user but decided to make the switch to Audio Technica as my reference headphones after trying a friend's pair. These headphones and weighted well and the quality is miles above an AKG headphone drivers. The added bonus with these headphones is the interchangeable headphone cable. Which allows you to switch between a long cable or a spring cable. Excellent value at this price-point.

Got it on time and in tact! Great little set like the choice if cords. If I had to be picky the storage bag is not big enough. But the unit works great.

Fantastic sound and ear pads are very comfortable to wear

I’ll start off by saying I’m someone who has always exclusively used in ear earphones as I prefer how they sound. However recently I found myself needing a pair of over ear headphones to allow a couple of (Tragus) ear piercings to heal correctly. So I searched the internet far and wide, read countless reviews on different pairs and I kept coming back to these. So I went down to JB Hi-Fi and bought them, and let me tell you I am blown away. I was expecting to like them sure, but always intended to go back to my old faithful holy grail earphones the 1MORE Triple driver E1001’s after my ears have healed. Yet I’m so impressed with these that I now think they will become my main pair of headphones with my old pair becoming a back up pair for when these are impractical. They have far exceeded my expectations and I would urge anyone contemplating buying them to go for it! They bring any genre of music to life and are fantastic for gaming, watching videos and everything in between. You simply can’t go wrong for the price either!

These are great headphones for the price. The rest is diminishing returns.
