Wood veneer surface, had splinters.

Nice style of wooden picture frame, however quality did not meet expectations. Visible splinters at the edge of the frame within the plastic packaging. Upon opening, there were some rough edges that required sanding down for safety. The frame appears to be made from solid wood however the visible faces of the frame look to be finished with a thin wood veneer.
