Breville the Compact Kettle 1L

I loved this kettle as it's to too heavy to lift when full, easy to clean and has a wide filling lid opening. However after just over 2 years cracks have started to appear in the lid. I thought it might have been knocked during a recent move and now with use the cracks have appeared. However when looking for a replacement online I found this is a common problem with Breville kettle lids so I have decided to go with another brand.

This is the second Breville kettle we have owned, we earlier had the larger capacity version. We were really happy with the 1 Litre but disappointed when the problem of a broken lid clip recurred in both models. I’m interested to know whether Breville repair this simple defect. Because the lid won’t stay down you have to sit something on top of it while it boils but pouring becomes unsafe with steam gushing out.

Pretty to look at ..... but the design is not functional as condensation and liquid sitting on the glass lid falls all over the outside of the kettle when you open the lid. Sorry I bought it .... would like a complete refund so I can buy the sunbeam

A great little kettle

This kettle is small and compact. It doesn't waste a lot of electricity heating a huge amount of water, just for 1 cup of tea.

Bought this one for my Dad its a great size not too heavy to lift when full. Suits his needs to a tee.

I’m loving my Breville Kettle. It’s the perfect size for two people and sits perfectly on my bench. I love how clean it looks inside, with all stainless steel functions.

My Husband fines it hard to read the water level and burns his hand when he picks the kettle up by the handle needs to be bigger.

Kettle is sufficient for my needs, however (and probably because I have large hands) there is no place for a 'thumb stop'. The first few times I used the kettle and tried to hold the handle, my thumb would touch the metal container. Did someone say 'HOT'! Kettle does boil quickly though.

It’s light to handle, quiet. Only problem is the water level indicator-cannot see the level.

I am very impressed with the speed of the water being boiled very quickly. Happy with the purchase.

Great value quick and efficient

Really good looking compact kettle. Looks good on bench top.

Just bought it but very happy so far. Boils fairly quickly, average noise for a kettle and just the right size for only a couple of cups. Also easy to hold. Like the slow opening lid - would be great if there was a button to close it too as it is too hot to touch if refilling the kettle after boiling (for extra guests) - need an oven mitt to close lid again. But for everyday use with only one or two people it's great.
