Breville the Original 2-Slice Sandwich Press

I bought this over 12 -24 months ago. I've used it half a dozen times in total and the black non stick is coming off. I am so carefully and very meticulous when cleaning or removing the toastie. I don't use any abrasive utensils and I clean with a sponge. The bread sticks and the toastie rips. I had a jaffle/toastie maker for years growing up. I wanted a Breville as it's an original icon brand. But so disappointed. I wish I had ove returned or done something sooner. It was terrible from the 1st couple of toasties. Incredibly hard to clean too with all the edges. Cheese is stuck in every crevice. The result an average ripped toastie then spend 20 mins cleaning so it's hygienic for next time. How truly disappointing. These cheap throw away appliances aren't made to last anymore.

I love this toastie maker, the original. I would have given 5 stars but I can't find bread to fit so one side of my sandwich doesn't seal and cheese leaks out apart from that thank you Breville. I've tried other brands and they don't come close to Breville ❣️

Was so excited to get the jaffle maker, after having the breville flat press and loving it. Well, this is the worst sandwich press I have ever owned! It only cooks half the sandwich. It takes ages to actually cook the sandwich and then i have to flip the sandwich half way through because only half is brown. If I flip, it cooks the other side. So dodgy. It's like only the outside heats up, but the centre triangles do not. I would not recommend this product, the kids (and adults) were so disappointed.

The best toastie maker ever! Does not stick as other reviewers say. Seals and separates the triangles perfectly each time . Flawless clip for closing and perfectly cooked when the light turns green. So many negative nancys. This product is perfect.

Surprised that Breville put their name on this. Worst Breville product I have come across. The issue is cleaning. The triangular shape and ridges makes it difficult to get into the corners. Non stick is never non stick. Burnt residue remains, and black on black almost impossible to see. The plates are not removable, but there are joins, and guess where the dirt collects . The cooking plates should be removable so they can go in the dishwasher .

From the first jaffle I have hated this. Impossible to find bread the right size. The middle cut thing has always stuck and when you open it when it says ready, it all falls out from inside. then I have to use a fork to get them out. Which makes the coating worst. The reviews that say easy to clean must be fake because it's not easy to clean.

I grew up with these and from memory they were the best. So I bought it when I had kids and the first one seemed ok, but started sticking. I replace it with a new one 18 months ago and this one started sticking within 3 goes. I'm disappointed especially given the non stick coating does not work especially on the cutting edges. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend the product anymore

I’ve had this for a year now, and it still makes brilliant toasties no matter the filling. It is also so easy to clean…as soon as the sandwich is out I wipe it down with a clean wet chux. Best way to ensure non-stick is to butter /margarine the outside of the bread.

Dosent matter what i try to do it dosnt toast the bread

My issues are the same as other reviews. It sticks. and it is hazardous to extract the toastie. At that time you are trying to remove the toastie on a hot electrified device. Breville surely you could have done better.

This product is supposed to have a non-stick coating. It is by far the worst case of missrepresentation. After successfully making the first couple of sandwiches it is now sticking everywhere. The only way to get them off is to scrape them out with a knife, which then damages the coating further exacerbating the problem

I bought this a year ago and have to bin it. Worked great the first time. After that, the toast would get stuck and rip apart. Would not recommend this toastie machine at all.

I am a support worker for a "Wheelie" who "splurged" and bought this Toastie Maker. What a disappointing waste of money! It was great for about 3 uses and then it began to stick particularly to the cutter and outside pressed edges, to the point where the toastie would fall apart as we are trying to remove it leaving the Breville caked in dried bread and impossible to clean.

I purchased this a few weeks ago and used it 3 times, it now resides in the bin. It has too many places where spillage gets caught in the grooves and making it just about impossible to clean properly. I wouldn't recommend this product at all.

I’ve only had the machine since mid December 2021. Initially it was great but overtime the sandwiches started sticking and the Teflon is coming off at parts as others have reported. Disappointing……

Cuts sandwiches perfectly every time. Easy to wipe clean.

Breville has long been the staple of an toastie maker, yet this mass produced unit is junk, 2 sandwiches later and like everyone else here the non-stick now doesnt just stick its like glue..... I can't find the model on the support product registration so how do I go about returning this or Breville replacing it with something that holds up to their name.

Efficient to use and compact to store in cupboard. Thoroughly recommend it!

Fantastic product, stores conveniently standing up in cupboard with limited space. Cooks great toasties perfectly with adequate filling.

This is the original and it brings back childhood memories. It just works and makes the best toasties

Bought this just recently and the product is dreadful. I made toasties the same way I did maybe 25 years ago (without issues), I buttered the outside etc. Have to use plastic spatula to force sandwiches out of grill, and it got worse each time until I couldnt even get the last sandwich out at all. Launched the whole pile of crap into the bin. How can Breville be making a product for 30 years and it is worse now than it was then?!

Always love Breville products. We brought this toastie maker again as it is perfectly suited to our needs. Nothing over complicated and the toasties are yummy.

Works well, would have appreciated a metal clip to keep halves closed, instead of plastic!

Since we’ve had our 2 slice maker, we have used it numerous times for a quick snack, using up leftovers for our main meal and helping our grandson make his favourite cheese and vegemite treat. Love it

Great sandwich maker. Perfect size for normal size bread slices so that when the cheese melts it doesn’t go everywhere. We’ve used it about 10 times.. sometimes cheese makes the sandwich stick but we always use a non metal spatula to unstick it and the sandwich stays in one piece. A lot easier to clean than the older versions.oh and it has no problem with using one side only. Happy toastie loving family.

Brings back the old school toasted sandwiches I had as a child and be able to introduce it to my kids. They love it. It’s quick to heat up and easy to clean. Love it.
