Breville the Smart Dry Connect Dehumidifier

If you’re buying this for the smart functions you’ll be sorely disappointed. You’d be better off with a dumb one and add a smart plug to control it. The timer isn’t turning off consistently. It doesn’t notify you when the tank is full (pretty obvious notifications to provide). It doesn’t always turn on when the humidity target has been met. Dehumidifying capabilities: does a decent job but the tank is tiny. Providing the hose is great for those that will plumb it in. We have the dinplex as well and would recommend that over this one.

I bought 2 of these units as I was requiring to bring a small home office down to a RH of between 35-40%. The best I could manage was 52%. The tank size doesn’t bother me for the water as I change every 12 hours. It’s more of a disappointment that the device has a range down to 30% but cannot reach. I’ll have to seek them both and buy a larger unit

Bought this about 4 days ago and it has never fallen below 60% humidity. Just to be clear we live in a tiny home positioned up above the ground about 1 metre with plenty of aeration.. Can't understand why something so expensive is unable to do the simple task... I'm due for my first baby in 3 weeks and was hoping to reduce the risk of mould in our 6mx3m bedroom.. can't even achieve that..

As someone who values a smart device's features, I must say this one falls short. I've been attempting to connect for two hours without success. The WiFi isn't functioning, and I can't locate a reset button. Although the device is generally good, it's not suitable for a smart home setup.

The worst dehumidifier ever. It can run in a bathroom that had 6-9 showers a day in it for a week and the tank doesn't have more then 200ml in it while the bathroom is moist/humid constantly. Definitely do not recommend. I would recommend too go and purchase the Delonghi Tasciugo AriaDry Multi Dehumidifier DEX214F. This unit works wonderfully and does what it should unlike this Breville unit.

When I opened the box the unit was covered in a greasy substance. I then ran it for a few hours, however it made no difference at all and there was more of the greasy substance on the unit. I suspect that the refrigerant from the unit was leaking. I did return the unit for a full refund but am looking into buying a different brand.

It is a great product as it isn’t too noisy and the convenience of being able to turn on from your phone is unmatched. it has a big enough tank that you’re not tipping the water out too often either. Would definitely recommend!

We love it! It does what is supposed to. The dehumidifier makes a bit of a sound but not excessive - doesn't bother us at all. It's compact, easy to move around and easy to operate. We have it for 2 weeks and can say that it significantly reduced the humidity in our place. Would definitely recommend!

Breville Smart Dry Connect Dehumidifier LAD208 Is good small and cost effective. It is very useful in rainy day and very helpful for bad orders from laundry as well. Breville always makes best quality products.

Was really impressed with this dehumidifier. Compact and efficient. The set up process was super easy and quick! The app is so easy to use and makes the whole process great. The different modes are brilliant and was surprised by how well it worked.

This is a great unit. It is slightly larger than I anticipated, but still relatively quiet. It's on wheels which makes it easy and smooth to move around when necessary. I love the smart features - I have a smart home and found the app very easy to use. I did have a slight hiccup in setting it up, as my modem is a 5ghz, but managed to work it out. While I didn't always feel any noticeable difference in the space when this was on, I was always so shocked to see just how much water this unit was extracting from the air. My favourite mode was definitely the laundry setting - I noticed a HUGE difference in drying time & my clothes weren't left with the murky smell that sometimes happens. My only negative about this unit was the water tray. It feels a little clunky and can be a little difficult to take out, especially when it's completely full. It is also a little difficult to get back into the correct position.. it's just a little awkward.

I found the Breville Smart Dry™ Connect Dehumidifier a great little appliance. It works wonderfully in reducing humidity levels in a short space of time. I used it in the bathrooms every day. Just 20-30 minutes after a shower and the bath was all dry and back to normal humidity level. I have used it on rainy days to speed up the drying process of my washing and it was of great help. I love the portability. The wheels, make it super easier to move around the house. Contains a tank a the back. Make sure to drain it often. The application is super easy to install , set up and use.

Nice compact dehumidifier. Not too heavy to be able to carry up and down stairs. Works for small rooms. Used in my spare room where I hang my washing and it did help dry the laundry overnight. Especially during the rainy period, when the room can feel damp at night, it was good to be able to see the indicator on the machine showing humidity decreasing. Love the blue light and that there is a function to turn the lights off at night without turning off the machine. Took me a bit longer to figure out how to connect to the wifi function to google assist. While nice to have, I don't really use it, except to use voice activation to turn it off. Otherwise, the functions are basic and it is easy to use which suits me.

I’ll be honest, I never thought I needed a dehumidifier before trying this out. I have been using the Breville Smart Dry in our ensuite bathroom during and after showers and it is absolutely brilliant. You can really feel the difference with how fresh and clear it feels in there. The device itself is easy to use, and all the functions are straight forward. There are automatic options and you can even connect it to your phone! Overall I am in love with this product and think it absolutely works wonders.

I have had this product for two months now. We got it in the peak of the wet weather Sydney was going through recently. We were having an issue with mould and mildew. Since getting the Smart Dry Connect, we have had no mould and the mildew smell is gone. It is a marvellous easy to use product.

We were having massive mold and mildew issues in our apartment after all the wet weather in Sydney. We bought this as a last-ditch effort to stop the mold and are so happy we did! Amazed at how much humidity this machine pulls out of the air - multiple litres a day during high humidity! I have seen an almost total reduction in mold and mildew cropping up and the air feels much cleaner and drier. Easy to empty tank and works quietly through the night.

This is effective in pulling air humidity from 70% to 50%, but overall the design is pathetic. It cuts off when full (2.5 ltrs), but when it’s so full (1cm from top) it’s almost impossible to get it out without spilling. The reservoir is an awkward shape to hold, and when you go to put it back in you basically have to hit it to get it in. My strong advice would be to investigate other brands.

I bought this dehumidifier yesterday during the torrential rain in Brisbane to help dry out my 35’ boat. It was easy to setup and connect to the wifi. The dehumidifier went straight to work bringing the humidity down from 79% to 55% in an hour or so. It’s in auto mode so it has kept it in the good range all night and morning. So far very happy. The app allows me to monitor what’s happening remotely.
