Breville the Smart Toast 2 Slice Toaster

Good quality toaster, quick browning, good space for odd sized breads plus handy features like ‘quick look’ and ‘a bit more’. Looks nice on the bench!

This Breville toaster works very well and is just smart enough to not be confusing but unfortunately died after 3 years and needed to be replaced

had the first replaced under warranty because it died withing 6 months, second one has lasted 18mths but only toasts the top half of the bread - pretty crap for something so expensive

This is the second one that we have had , because it is so good

On sale, was a gift for my Husband as he loves this toaster for doing crumpets

I have struggled with 3 toasters in the past 3 years. I am very pleased with the Breville . Toasts well on both sides that others don’t seem to have achieved .

Last one lasted 7 years. We loved it and bought the same again

Our Breville Smart Toast 2 slice failed 6 months over the 2 year warranty period. Whilst I appreciate Breville's offer of a 40% discount of the purchase of a new smart toaster directly from them, I am still disappointed that when you pay for a premium item that it fails after 2.5 years. When you pay a premium, you really do expect the appliance to last at least 5 years.

This is an excellent toaster. I came across the 4 slice edition at a Resort's breakfast area. It coped well with the traffic and the Lift and Look button meant up to 4 people could use it at one time. Guests showed the finer point to each other. So I purchase the two slice version on my return. However, the written instructions, while mostly intuitive, are lengthy and repetitive. The use of a simple matrix would make life a bit easier. Also my instructions for the Crumpet/ Fruit button did not specify to push the button once for Crumpet and twice for Fruit Bread (The button goes dark blue.) I found this out by looking on the web at other toaster's instructions.

Great Toaster, does exactly what it claims. Frozen fruit Bread toasted perfectly.

Product working fine and cooks better than my previous toasters. The smart activity makes cooking easier.

Beautiful design with a brushed stainless steel finish. Matches nicely with the Breville jug. It’s just a little bit fancy to have your toast descend via the touch of a button. Great toasting with the option of the frozen button to defrost and a way to check on how things are going or to add a little extra time with the ‘a little bit more’ function.

Cooks toast to perfection. The 'just a bit more ' and 'take a look' buttons are great.

I love this smart toaster especially with all of the features such as lift and look and a bit more great for toast.

Great product, highly recommend!

The toaster is just a bread warmer. Even on the maximum setting only a thin strip at the top of the bread is toasted. Most of the filaments are out of sight. This toaster replaced another Breville that performed the same way. Very disappointing.

Clear simple instructions easy to adjust choice selected to give result required. My husband cooked crumpets today.

Had to come back to this toaster after a long spell in the wilderness with less than perfect products. Our first Breville smart toaster lasted a long time and we loved it so of course we had to go with the same one again. Just Perfect.

Great toaster only thing is it takes a bit to work out the right setting for multigrain sourdough which seems to be a very dense bread taking much longer to toast. On the plus side crumpets are great effect!

It is indeed 'Smart'!! It can do a few things a regular toaster can't do...'Lift and look' feature allows you to check on the doneness...'Crumpet & fruitbread' button allows toasting in the middle only so your crumpet bottoms are still nice and soft! I expect fruitbread' doesn't burn on this function either but I havent tried that as yet. Another feature that I appreciate is that when it's finished toasting it raises the toast high enough for you to pick it up easily, unlike our previous toaster. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase!

Love my new toaster! Apart from all the high tech wizardry, I especially like the fact that can watch the progress count down and so be at the toaster ready to butter while it's still nice and hot. Very pleased with all its features.

Overall a good toaster however I find that it doesn't toast evenly. Typically the bottom half will be toasted more than the top half

I found the smart toaster so easy to use and quickly established settings for toasting i prefere.

This is a very snicky piece of technology, the second I’ve bought, but inside is an ordinary toaster element with the usual foibles of uneven cooking and burning if not watched. My first one just died, but despite its price there is no obvious way to have it repaired. But it is pretty anyway.

Love my smart Toaster having it for 9 years now and I still get the oh fancy or wow from people when I press the button and the bread goes smoothly in Hahaha so great 9 years and it's still new to some people 😄
