Breville the Smart Toast 4 Slice Toaster (Sea Salt)

I bought this about 2 weeks ago and have had exactly the same issues as other people. It burns the edges of the bread whilst the middle is still un-toasted bread. I bought it because we had a two slice model which works well, but the long 4 slot model just doesn’t work.

Great toaster for sour dough bread

Great looking and nice quality materials. Ive had 3 in tital, o e has worked consistsntly, and obe broke and was replaced by breville under warranty. The replacement unit has now broken as well after 4 years. None of them seem to toasts the bottom of the bread equally to the top half, but its no a deal breaker. Id exoect an expebaive toastwr such as this ti last lobger to be honest. Ill buy another obe as frankly it has good features.

A great toaster with a range of functions that allows you to make the perfect slice of toast and crumpets each and every time - and importantly, no more burnt toast smells. We use both fresh oven baked breads as well as breads from the supermarket and the controls including the "a bit more" function are great to ensure the toast can be made to suit individual tastes.

Easy to use and extremely effective. Absolute love that it gives a beep when its finished instead of popping up the toast violently.

Like others, I found that this product malfunctioned after about 18 months. It started tripping the circuit breaker and soon after one side stopped working. Feeling extremely let down given the price of this thing. Will be steering clear of Breville after this.

I have 4 slice toaster in this series and I wanted this additional one to do the larger slices of bread found at farmers markets etc. Performs well as expect. The only draw back is it has a slight high pitch electrical ringing sound when not in use- but I always turn things off at the wall anyway.

This is my third, and final, Breville Smart toaster. The first one lasted about 3 years. The second one was purchased at JB and within weeks it stopped toasting on one slot. JB replaced it. That third one stopped toasting on one slot this week - just weeks out of warranty. Great toaster (the fruitbread, crumpet and frozen settings work perfectly). Poor longevity.

Purchased this toaster not long ago and now only one side works. Low quality

Bought this toaster as a gift for my wife, she enjoys toast for breakfast but kept buying cheap toasters from department stores. It’s amazing even I love it.

I loved this toaster, it did everything I wanted and it looked great. Loved the motorised cradle to lower and lift the bread. The led timer display is a good feature. But after 18 months, one side of the heater shorted to earth and stopped working. Seems like this is a common fault, going by other reviews. Shame as it is a very nice toaster. I had no trouble getting a full refund.

Have owned for 'maybe' 18months and for that time it worked great. It has good features, however one side of the (one slice slot) toaster has now stopped working. It's only ever toasted bread and maybe 4 pieces a day. My recommendation would be to avoid this and go for something a bit more traditional. You'll get more life out of it. Toasters I've had in the past have lasted 10 or more years. 18 months isn't acceptable.

We bought this toaster, it lasted 18 months then the element shorted to earth. We got a new replacement, this one lasted 3 months. Never again.

I bought this for my husband. He wanted a toaster he could cook artisan breads and bagels with, specifically. it's a pretty cool toaster, it does a little beep when it's finished toasting.

We finally have a functional toaster. Not only does it cook toast evenly, it does it with great functionality. This is a smooth, functional 4 slice beauty.

I ordered it on a Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday - very impressed with JB's online service. I had done a lot of reviewing of 4 slice toasters and although some didn't give it a good rating we are very impressed with it so far. Easy to use, toasts well and looks smart!
