Breville the Toast Select Luxe 2 Slice Toaster (Sea Salt)

Bought this about 12 months ago as I loved the colour. Looking for a new non breville toaster as this one only toasts one side. Not a great toaster at all.

It is only a new toaster, so I cannot speak to its longevity. The first few toasts have gotten crispy on the outside of the 'artisan' bread and soft inside, with just a few trials with the dials. I have a lot of wood in my house, and the stainless steel looks so good. Paritosh, Maleny.

Received as a birthday gift

I couldn't be more pleased with my toaster. It is streamlined, elegant, beautifully designed. And, the colour is superb.

I bought this toaster less than 12 months ago. The only thing we like is the gold colour. It does not toast both sides and does not fit a big piece of toast in. You have to cut it in half. I didn’t think I’d need to read a manual back to back to toast some bread. We love Breville normally which is why I invested in this appliance.

After buying my first Breville toaster, I've stuck with this brand due to it's reliability and practicality. I have chosen the Breville brand in other appliances too, for the same reason. Best on the market and a good price point.

Purchased June 2025, perfect!!! literally. The quality/finish/colours are awesome. There is no buzzing noise as others have complained. Awesome toaster

Failed 6 months out of warranty. Lights turn on but elements do not. Used less than once per week on average. This is the third Breville appliance we have owned that has failed between year 2 and year 3 of ownership and unfortunately has tarnished the reputation of the brand.

It’s nice to find a toaster that so far has been consistant in toasting/browning on both sides of the bread using the differant settings used so far, the only crititism we have is the slots could be a little longer to allow longer sourdough loaf pieces to fit

After a week of use we are happy with the performance. It's taller than our previous Breville and accommodates more sizes. It toasts very evenly.

It's a sturdy & sleek looking toaster. I do like the features it provides with the 6 preset toast types & the Variable browning control with the LED indicates your browning progress & the 'A Bit More' and 'Lift & Look' functions which are always handy to have. I bake my own sourdough breads. I've been doing Rye breads recently, and though took a while to find the right browning setting for me, I got it to what I want. There are 2 things which marked it down to 4 stars...one is a problem others have had. The browning on the toast is uneven, and I do swap it to either slot to see if it makes a difference..it didn't. The other , is a minor design flaw for me, I have to move the toaster sideways to monitor the browning progress or even change the toasting settings, which is annoying as I don't have the bench space to do so.

I was so excited about getting this product! I had just bought my first house and had racked up enough flybuys to get this toaster and the matching jug. Loved the Olive Tapenade colour (which appears to no longer be available). When I took them out of their boxes, they were so beautiful. Everything about them felt like quality and I understood the pricetag. And then I used the toaster. Almost impossible to get a tan on a piece of bread. To achieve a bit of colour you have to wait for the bread to be completely dehydrated first. Usually I check 1 star reviews first so I must have been blinded by the love of the look because there are so many reviews stating this exact problem. The 5 star reviews must be those who haven't actually used it yet so are reviewing based on the look and feel of the product. Either that or Breville's quality assurance person has been sleeping on the job because there appears to be a number of duds hitting the shelves. So disappointed as I love the appearance of these products, especially the colour. The jug gets 5/5 though!

Never before had a toaster that could actually cook a crumpet! Brilliant! Love the bread selector, love the raise and check feature. Does exactly what I ask of it, consistent results.

Love my new toaster. Love the dial to select what you're toasting (white bread, crumpets, fruit etc) as with the bit extra toast function and the high lift function - such a simple idea but brilliant!! Definitely recommend.

Takes larger slices than previous machine owned, pleased

Nice looking toaster, however patchy toasting, corners of brown bread set on Brown and 4 don’t cook, so all toast not eaten. May return to store but feels like a first world problem.

Looks amazing, great quality, good functionality with crumpet setting that works perfectly.

We find it very accurate and easy to adjust and easy on the eyes

The toaster is fine except the toast often flies out and up in the air when toasting is completed.

I have used the toaster to make some toast (duh). I set it for grain bread, darkness 4, and it seemed to do the job, which it should for the money I paid.

Positives: It looks good, relatively small footprint, dials feel sturdy Negatives: it absolutely does not toast evenly. The bottom 1/3 does not toast (see photo). Plus, the manual explanation of the bread selection is way too basic, it's assuming customers are completely dumb. I want to know what wattage and what duration correspond to each intersection of browness and bread type, so I don't have to experiment every time figuring out what happening "behind the scenes".

Really love this toaster, great light display showing the time and darkness of your toast and quick too.

Love the design of the Toast Select. So neat and compact. The colour "Sea Salt" looks great and goes so well with my kitchen bench tops. Toasted my crumpets to perfection. Wish you made a microwave to match.

Toaster is easy to use, works well to date, and is of nice appearance.
