Don’t buy for apsc cameras. Full frame only.

Useless on an aps-c body. With a 80mm full frame equivalent, its usage is very limited do to being way to tight to get shots. As a 50mm on my full frame, it’s a perfect grab and go lens of average build quality, lacking image stabilisation - but fast enough in most situations not to need it. Yes, the bokeh is nice, but you also can’t shoot without it, which is sometimes annoying if that’s not what you want. I give it 3 overall, because being “cheap” is the draw card here for most people, and it is a cheap lens.

A classic

A compact and bright lens which is light to carry and easy to pack into your kit bag. Good value for money.

Nifty by name, Nifty by Nature: The Nifty Fifty.

Began my journey with this prime and couldn't think of anything better. The depth of field and length pushed you to get creative as you learn your camera. The value is superb at this price point as well. A must have in the kit.

Unbeatable value for money

This lens is the best value for money you will ever find. Excellent focal length for versatility, and very cheap but still high quality.

Beautiful, smooth images

Had this lens for years and still love using it, creates lovely blurred backgrounds and crisp, but smooth focal points.

Simple but great!

Bought while borrowing my friend's camera for a month. It was an excellent lens for the price I paid and definitely holds it's own against higher cost lenses in my professional work.

Take anywhere!

Love my nifty 50..I can take it anywhere for great portrait snaps without carrying the size and weight of a big lens

Great image quality on a budget

This is a great lens, particularly for beginners. Given its 1.8 aperture it's easy to experiment and get those blurry backgrounds without beaking the bank. The image quality is great, and it is easy to carry everywhere because it's small size.

Small, sharp, affordable, versatile

I bought this lens with my R6 mk2 as an alternative to my RF24-105 (which is also great, just big) for when I want a smaller lens and a wider aperture. It’s more than sharp enough for my usage and in some scenarios renders bokeh in a characterful almost vintage way wide open. When stopped down the lens becomes as sharp as some L lenses I’ve used which is especially remarkable at the price point. In some scenarios the lens almost has some “3D Pop” as some people say. The size and weight is also very convenient, when I’m doing street photography, the small size makes the lens not intimidating to the general public so they don’t feel intimidated by it which is a common thing with large lenses. Overall, very nice lens in general and especially for the price. Would recommend to anyone in the RF system.

Nice RF50mm lens for my Canon R6. Sharp and fast focus, however does not come with a hood.

A must have lens for almost every photographer

Very silky Bokeh! Beautiful texture when deep focusing. Used on a Canon R7 and I am enjoying it a lot!
