Mould developing after only three months

I purchased the Joseph Joseph Nest™ Boards 3-Piece Bamboo Chopping Board Set around three months ago, and unfortunately, mould has already started to develop around the edges of the boards. I followed the care instructions provided and even purchased mineral oil specifically to maintain and protect the boards as recommended. I’m very disappointed, especially given that the set is only around three months old. I’m wondering whether I may have received a faulty item or if there was an issue during manufacturing, as I wouldn’t expect this to happen so soon with proper care.
