An exceptional artisanal creation, your Diptyque candle deserves the utmost care.. . Here are a few tips to help optimise its lifespan, enjoy it safely, and refill it.. . Prepare your space. . - Place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.. . - Protect delicate materials such as wood or marble with a stand or tray.. . - Keep candles away from flammable materials.. . - Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.. . Light the candle. . - We recommend lighting your candle with a match to avoid any risk of burning yourself.. . - During the first burn, make sure to let the candle burn until a uniform pool of melted wax has formed (about 4 hours depending on the scent). This prevents the wax from tunneling and allows the wick to absorb the wax properly, ensuring an even burn thereafter. Wicks may produce a small amount of smoke when first lit.. While burning. - Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time after the first burn.. - Never leave a burning candle unattended.. - Do not move a burning or unlit hot candle.. - Keep it away from draft.. - Leave at least 10 cm (4 inches) between two candles.. After each use. - Snuff out the flame: use a snuffer to avoid splashing hot wax.. - Re-center the wick once the candle is out.. - Before relighting your candle, use a wick trimmer to trim the wick (ideal length: 3 to 5 mm) to avoid risk of fire.. Final note. - Stop using your candle once there is only 5 mm of wax left or the metal wick sustainer base becomes visible.. After care & storage. - We recommend airing out the room after burning a candle.. - Allow the wax to cool completely before moving your candle.. - Store it in a dry, temperate place (15 °C–25 °C / 59 °F–77 °F), away from direct sunlight to avoid discoloration, pigmentation or dislodge of the wax.
