Clairol Nice 'N Easy Permanent 4 Dark Brown Hair Colour each

Extremely disappointed. I would never recommend this hair dye. I bought Clairol Nice’n Easy 3. 5 Darkest Brown because I wanted a natural dark brown. Instead, it turned my hair almost black, nothing like I expected from the packaging. I had spent the last two years carefully lightening my hair from an old dark colour, and this one box completely undid all of that work. I’m absolutely devastated. The colour on the box was very misleading, and the result looked far darker than advertised. I now have to spend more money and time trying to correct something I never wanted in the first place. This has been an incredibly upsetting experience. Literally crying my eyes out, I will never buy this product again or recommend this brand to anyone. Just don’t sell the product if u can’t make the colour correctly.

Light ash blonde 9A. Agree with other comments, shocked to see mixture purple not usual brown. Used and final hair colour much duller and coverage not nearly so good. Have used for years very happily before this and always complimented on the colour - not this time I think!

I have used this dye twice in lifetime now (it’s a fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me kind thing at this point). Each time my hair has come out an extremely dark brown with no reddish tone. This product has so many wonderful reviews which really perplexes me, because this product has never once given me the colour advertised. I once did it on dark brown hair, this dye made it even darker! I’ve since dyed my hair a lighter shade, put this colour on— and i’m back to dark brown! So confusing.

There is nothing “light” or “ashy” about this colour. My hair which was first an ashy silver blonde has come out a VERY dark brown with GINGER at the roots.

Just bought this hair dye and am extremely unhappy with the results. Put it on my dark brown hair to over my roots and it washed out black. Not brown black, but black with blue undertones. Completely ruined my colouring and will not buy again.

I have been buying this product for years and now find it is almost impossible to find. Your website says it is not available online and I should try instore. Why?

Having purchased Nice n Easy Medium Brown for 5 years and been very satisfied with the results, I bought the same product in Feb 2026. The result was totally different to every prior usage - it was dark, almost black and looked absolutely ridiculous. I had to get a second haircut, this time very short. I have no confidence in the colour representations of Clairol products any longer and will not be buying it in the future. It reflects on the poor integrity of Clairol and its disregard for its customers that no warning that this change in colour/formula had been made.
