Ensure candles are secure before lighting. Candles will drip wax. Always burn candles on protected, heat-resistant surfaces. Extinguish taper and pillar candles when they get down to a few centimetres of their holders or decorations. When relighting candles trim wick to 1cm. Keep the wax pool clear of matches and other debris. Remove candles and excess wax from cake before serving.

Candles can cause fires. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep a burning candle away from flammable material, drafts and vents. Burn candle out of reach of children and pets. Always leave at least 5cm between burning candles. Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire. Do not place on surfaces which can be damaged by heat. Burn on protected, heat-resistant surfaces. Do not move candles when lit and when wax is liquid.
