The grater has two sides which can be separated, a coarse grate and a fine grater. They can be used joined together providing a stable platform for grating onto a board or other surface or can be separated so they can be used like a zester to grate directly into a bowl or dish. The graters are very sharp and easy to use.

This is the most simple, stable and most sharp! grater I have ever used. I purchased it due to its ability to fold flat when closed, for easy storage. It sits so stable while grating. I use my grater every single day for apples for my breakfast oats. As the two sides can come apart, is so easy to clean. Do be careful of the sharpness of it, as the first time I used it i got a little too close and grated a finger instead!
