Foster Clark's Original Recipe Vanilla Flavoured Liquid Custard 1L

I really like it and I made banana Custard with it and it had an really nice creamy texture

My children had this custard sprinkled with Milo as dessert. The custard was smooth and creamy, and tasted great as a treat. It tasted better than other custards usually bought from the fridge section of the supermarket, but did need chilling for several hours before it could be consumed.

This was a lovely treat and at just the right time of year! I had some on a slice of (early) xmas pudding and really enjoyed it. I liked the texture - very creamy - and it had a pleasant taste. I like that it's a longlife product that can be stored on the shelf until opened, too. Handy to keep in the pantry! I'm going to try freezing some, also, just to test what it's like. Definitely a product I can recommend.

It is smooth and creamy custard just as a custard should be. Tasty with fruits, works well as ice cream pops too.

This product was delicious and ticked all the boxes for me and my family. It was rich and creamy with a delicious vanilla flavour that wasn't overwhelming, and the consistency was full bodied and not too runny in texture, which is something I really hate in custard brands I have tried. My family had it for desert with an adaption of the parfait recipe on the side of the carton (there were other sample recipes listed on the carton too which is handy), it combined with chocolate sauce, ice cream, mango and shaved almonds really well.

Drizzled the custard over homemade apple pies. First bite was delicious, smooth and silky! But the more I ate, the more it tasted very watery and lacked flavour. It also resembled the aftertaste of artificial sugar which wasn’t pleasant. It was okay, not sure I would buy it again. Would probably stick with my usual brand which is a bit sweeter and creamer. My husband gave it a thumbs up, my 4 year old gave it a thumbs down. So I guess a mixed review from our household.

Clarke’s vanilla custard is a perfect item to have in the cupboard. Creamy custard made from Australian milk is perfect desert with banana. Highly recommend.

Foster Clarks long life custard is an acceptable substitute for fresh dairy custard, however it is not something I would go out of my way to buy. Whilst the overall taste and texture is comparable to fresh custard, it does have a slightly "chemical" or "processed" after taste. I had tasted the custard on its own, however the after taste may not be as noticeable if consumed with other ingredients. With this in mind I would consider using it if a recipe called for custard, and fresh custard was not available.
