I bought this iO2 rechargeable toothbrush about 7 months ago in calgary Alberta Canada at my local Rexall Drug store and today opened the box and just tried to get working. Plugged it in and got no response. Not even the charger worked. No indicator lights. All other appliances plugged in all work though. No power outage. Plug in is working. Seems like a dud unit.
Had iO2 tooth brush for approx 1 month. It started to flash red indicating it needed a charge for the 1st time. Put it on charge overnight with the charge light pulsating green. Woke up this morning, removed the iO2 from the charger, still flashing Red.. Not happy Jan!
I bought this tooth brush maybe four weeks ago. I went to put it on the charger and it wouldnt charge. Now at first i blamed myself. I thought that that when i replaced my older toothbrush that i disposed of the wrong charger. So i paid for a new charger at my own expense. Anyway i received the new charger because finally i get to use my new toothbrush, plugged it in and it wont charge either. The worst thing is that this toothbrush was expensive.
I bought this because I needed one with a timer, a charging light and gentle speed option. These were all things my old Oral B had. When it died I bought another without realising it didn’t have a charge indicator, it was also really hard to turn on and off; it died so I bought this one as it had all the things I needed. I agree with the other review here that says the design is ridiculous. It is slippery to hold and once it gets wet, because the stupid fat shaft makes spitty toothpaste dribble down the handle, it’s like trying to hold an eel! Really dumb design! I’m going to have to stick something to it to make it possible to hold. It’s unfortunate because I like the way it brushes, I just hate the design. If you design a better one I’m happy to test it out for you and give you feedback because whoever tested this one and told you it was good was lying!
Having not used an electric toothbrush since childhood, I tested the Oral-B iO2 Electric Toothbrush without any real expectation that I would consider switching away from my manual toothbrush. I found however that the electric toothbrush did a better job of removing food particles from between my teeth and gums. It's not perfect so picks or flossing is still required (especially for the likes of fibrous meat caught between teeth), but the difference was enough for me to consider the switch to what is a more expensive oral health solution. The iO2 appears to be the basic entry in the iO range, with 3 speeds (the first of which seems completely pointless) and a pressure warning light which you can't actually see most of the time you're brushing. Appears reasonably resistant to water ingress and with the sealed base obviously uses induction charging. Has lasted over a week with twice daily use, but with no charge level indicator I've no idea how long the battery will likely last.
Works well! Looks nice and sleek and the battery also lasts long. Easy to use and has a quiet sound. I like the different brushing modes and my teeth definitely feel clean after using it.
Coming from a manual toothbrush, I am impressed by the way this toothbrush warns you if you are pushing too hard which is great for the gums as well as the life of the brush. It also helps you section each area of brushing with timed vibrations, ensuring even brushing all over and has three seperate settings easily set for preference of hardness. After a week of using this brush, I’m converted from a manual toothbrush user. My teeth feel cleaner in a shorter time and I now dont need to concern myself that I’m damaging my gums through over-brushing.
My first impression was that the design looked very sleek and modern with the jet black finish. The charge lasts through a full clean. I have sensitive gums and have struggled with electric toothbrushes in the past being too harsh on my gums. While I appreciate the gum pressure sensor on the toothbrush, this still feels more harsh on my gums than my soft bristled manual toothbrush. Having said that, I do love the deep clean feel this electric toothbrush gives me, so I might swap between the two to give my gums a break every so often. My only criticism would be that it only comes with one head - I would love if two were included with the toothbrush, in case you have two people using the base, or to save having to purchase a replacement head when it comes time to swap out the head. For anyone with less sensitive gums than me, I would recommend.
First time using an electric toothbrush and was quite impressed. Controls are simple and not over complicated. Easy to hold design and not too heavy. Used the gentle setting for the past week and found it gave my teeth a thorough clean. Liked how it also has two minute timer. My only negative would be that the red light to see when you are pressing too hard is hard to see when you are brushing your teeth as the light is facing down towards your mouth so don’t really see it easily. Good toothbrush and was quite impressed! The 30 second timer to switch areas is also a great idea!
Love the look, it’s very sleek design. It does the job, has a very gentle vibration. Power wise it doesn’t have as much oomph as other electric toothbrushes I’ve tried. Was kind of irritating having to click through all the power options each time, as it doesn’t remember the previous setting.
