Keratin Smooth Serum

This product is super affordable and is often on sale. I have enjoyed using this so far and use it 3 times a week. The consistency goes on smooth and is super hydrating for my hair. It's not to heavy or weighs my hair down. I've definitely noticed less frizz in my hair and better hair health overall. My hair has Alot more shine to it and overall looks healthier and shiner. Smells devine I like the bottle it pumps out really week and the black colour of the bottle makes it seem like a premium product.

Tresemme has been putting out some pretty decent products at very affordable price points and this is no exception. This is a leave-in product that can be used on damp or dry hair. It is designed to add shine, tame frizz and control flyaways. It comes in a black and gold 100ml pump bottle which is easy to dispense. The formula contains a mix of silicones and oils including some good plant oils like coconut oil, argan oil, sweet almond oil, sunflower seed oil. It has a viscous texture, spreads well and a little goes a long way. It has a pretty strong fragrance - thankfully I don't mind the scent. The texture is neither too oily nor too silicone-y. I like that it provides heat protection, so that I can apply it on damp hair before blow-draying. I also find that it does add shine and smooths outs frizziness. My only reservation is that the second ingredient is mineral oil which is doesn't really provide any nutrients to the hair. It looks like it's been used as a filler in the formula. However, I understand this is a supermarket product so can't really expect premium ingredients all the way through. I do think it's really pretty decent for the price point.

This has a nice scent that’s pleasant and not overly powering. Packing is sleek and stylish, love that it comes with a pump making it mess free and easy to dispense the product. I use it as the last step in my hair routine after washing, treatment and styling. It helps keep the frizz at bay but doesn’t weight the hair down which is a plus as I have flat and fine hair. Recently bleached my hair too, which compromised the quality and texture of it but this has been doing a good job in smoothing the hair! A little goes a long way too as you only need a pump to cover the whole head.

This was a really easy to use serum with Keratin & Shea Butter. It softened my hair ( I like applying this to my hair when almost dry) and absorbed easily. It’s a clear liquid I probably needed 2-3 pumps per use and concentrated it on the ends of my hair which are quite unhealthy and dry. This made my hair super smooth and soft and quite silky looking. I liked that it wasn’t too heavy or greasy the next day and it absorbed quickly as well. The pump bottle is great for travel and 100mL is a good size. The fragrance is floral and not too overpowering. Glad I tried this product thank you BH!

I recieved this as part of a discovery bag trial. I don't have frizzy hair or excessive fly away bits (only flat Asian hair) and I hate adding serums into my hair as it can feel heavy and my hair is oily at the top. So I have it a friend with wildy curly frizzy hair which can be prone to dryness and she loved it. She said it was easy to use, few pumps from this pump bottle is all that is needed. She rubbed it from into both dry and damp hair, from the top to the bottom. And her hair was tamed, less flying bits, shiny and looking really healthy. She loved it and wants to buy more! She loves the subtle scent. She also loved that its free from free from dyes, alcohol and parabens.

As someone with thin hair that is prone to becoming oily very quickly, my rule of thumb is always to only put conditioner and product on my ends. However, with post partum fly aways, and frizzy hair, I decided to put this product all over my hair - only the excess left on my hands went on the roots though. I was surprised. It didn't weigh down my hair, or make it oily or too shiny. It was smooth, soft, weightless an not crunchy. My hair is always knotty, it has to stay tied up 99% of the time to avoid becoming a birds nest so I've loved the added feature of de-tangling that this product offers. I think I'll be repurchasing this.

I have been working it through my hair after washing, from the mid-lengths to the ends. The oils in the serum are what make it so smoothing, including coconut oil, argan oil, sweet almond oil, and sunflower seed oil. The handy pump pack is easy to use and the 100mL size should last a while, as I only use a small amount. The serum has a lovely deep fruity fragrance that is subtle on my hair. As a viscous clear liquid, the serum is easy to apply on my hair and absorbs well.

However, note that the main oil at the top of the ingredients list is mineral oil. It also contains hydrolyzed keratin. This product is quite viscous, and a little goes a long way. It has a nice fragrance that's pretty strong, but I do like the scent. The serum spreads well, and the mix of silicones and oils gives it a decent texture that's neither too oily nor silicone-y. I like that it provides heat protection, so that I can apply it on damp hair before blow-draying. I also find that it does add shine and smooths outs frizziness. I don't mind silicones as that's what provides heat protection, and I love amodimethicone which my hair responds well to. However, I do have reservations about the main oil in this product being mineral oil. That's not because I think mineral oil will damage my hair, but because mineral oil is more of a filler - it doesn't have any longer term benefits that plant oils have. There are other hair serums out there like Mise En Scene that just have the good plant oils and silicones. Then again, this product is easily available locally and very affordable, even often sold at half price. I do think it is one of the best out of the supermarket hair serums that I've used.
