La Roche Posay Effaclar A.Z. Gel Cream 40ml

I have adult acne, and it’s been a pain to treat. I have been on prescription retinol and it’s been a real struggle to balance the dryness from the retinol and the acne spots. I started off initially on the effaclar M treatment used it for a while and didn’t make a difference. When this initially launched, I saw that it targeted adult acne!!!!! I have finished 4 bottles now ! And I can honestly say that I use my retinol less days a week without having spots or PIH. I definitely think it works, but it does take a bit of time for skin to get used to. Also contains salicylic acid.. which is effective but I only use this once a day. I do have to say.. although my skin is a priority and I will carry on using this.. it doesn’t layer well with makeup. I am not sure why.

I got this to use in conjunction with a tretanoin cream I use at night. I’d seen this gel was an azailic acid and recommended to use in the morning following a tretanoin routine at night. I have tried to use it under my make up but it makes a complete mess and make up just rolls off your face and looks uneven. Maybe it’s better for a night routine but not for a girl who likes to wear make up.

This is an expensive product and it’s from a luxury brand. I bought it having read that it is easily absorbed into the skin. I beg to differ! It does not absorb into the skin at all in fact it sits in a thin layer on your skin regardless of how much or how little you use. Once it has been on the skin for a few minutes if you then touch your skin or brush your skin or put a jumper on or try and put any make-up on or anything else that involves your skin being touched in any way shape or form the product flights off prolifically looking like dried flakes of skin . It isn’t dried flakes of skin it’s the product.. how is it of any benefit if it just sits on your skin in a layer rather than being absorbed?

Peels off like crazy! Through the day skin look terrible and dry. Flakes dropping off. Really not impressed at all. Waste of money.

Bought this as a day cream as my skin is prone to acne, I usually wear cc cream on top of the day cream but this one is impossible to combine with.. the cc cream starts to look like lumps when used with this cream.. i suppose you can only wear this during night time when not combined with other products.. very disappointing

I received a sample and was able to try for a few days. I am very impressed with this cream! I have dry acne prone skin and Im breaking out at the moment with alot of texture. This is clearing my skin right up! The cream is gentle enough for everyday use. I really enjoy it and would recommend to anyone whos got acne or breaks out regularly.

Been using a sample I got for a few days and I noticed a decrease in how inflamed my acne looks, its less red. It calmed down alot and soothes my skin and moisturises at the same time. Would definitely recommend!

I bought this a couple weeks ago and have been using it every other night before the Cicaplast Baume. I've been struggling with hormonal blind pimples and hyperpigmentation scarring and I've seen a reduction in my active breakouts, have far less new pimples popping up and the scarring is visibly reduced! Great combo which helps reduce the risk of damaging my skin barrier and doesn't flare up my sensitive skin

I use this as my night moisturiser and have definitely noticed a difference with skin texture and less fine lines. Also helps with my pigmentation. Spots are noticeably less.
