LEGO® Star Wars SMART Play: Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter 75421

I had an excellent experience building the LEGO Smart Play Darth Vader's TIE Advanced set. From the moment I opened the box, it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into both the building experience and the interactive features. The instructions were easy to follow, with each stage of the build introducing new techniques that kept the process engaging without ever feeling overwhelming. The design of the TIE Advanced is outstanding. It captures the iconic look of Darth Vader's legendary starfighter with impressive accuracy, from the distinctive wing panels to the sleek cockpit and detailed interior. The finished model is sturdy, highly detailed, and looks fantastic on display. It's instantly recognizable to any Star Wars fan and does a great job recreating one of the most memorable ships from the saga. What really sets this set apart is the Smart Play functionality. The interactive features add a whole new dimension to the experience, making the model feel much more immersive than a standard LEGO build. The smart elements work seamlessly and encourage creative play, allowing you to imagine piloting the TIE Advanced through intense space battles, defending the Empire, or recreating memorable scenes from the films. This set had many cool sound features, and I would definitely buy more copies of this set!

We thought this set was amazing! The build was fun and easy for our 3 year old to follow along. He loves playing with the set. The big benefit as a parent building was… ZERO STICKERS. Made the whole thing much smoother. Is it expensive? Sure. But our son loves it beyond the build.

This Lego set is really cool! The magic brick is such a fun new addition to these sets and I appreciate that this set came with one. The instructions were easy to follow and my kids had a lot of fun building. The extra sounds make it feel like you're making your own Lego Star Wars movie.

I had gift cards and I saw this set. Had NO idea what “smart play” meant but turns out it is a brick that lights up and gives you sound effects. Not official sound effects either. And it is only for playability so the set, the ship, is not complete. It has an open back to take the light up brick in n out easily. I wish I had never got it. It was an awful build. Left me with too many separate parts, not good for displaying, and I couldn’t return it because I’d used gift cards to purchase this. AND, couldn’t collect points for building it because the QR Code was for a different set!!!! Waste. I will box it back up. Don’t want it on my shelves.

Fun for the whole family and new lego featurs had us all aaahing and ooohing. The design was wonderful and we geeked out building Darth and his fighter. The set looks so cool, and like all lego I expect it to last for a long time. Great size to display on a shelf too. But the best part for us was the smart brick and smart features! So many fun sounds and lights, and they all do respond to your moves! I adore it!

I love the concept of the smart brick and I think Lego is headed in the right direction, but the execution here is lackluster. My hope is Lego will at some point enable us to design our own features via the app or with next gen bricks/tags. It's hard to imagine the toy company that brought out my most creative self as a kid and gave us MindStorms would make a new technology so restrictive. It also seems counterintuitive to me to make such a rudimentary design targeted to juveniles and launching it via a 49 year old movie. The other more traditional parts are of a similar quality to what Id expect from Lego. But the bottom line, after nearly a lifetime of playing Star Wars, NOBODY makes better laser sounds than me. Pew! Pew!

My six year old son and I are working on this Star Wars LEGO set together. He is a huge Star Wars fan and was thrilled to get started on it! The design is detailed and it is a fun family project. We are excited that this set comes with a smart brick and can’t wait to hear the sounds and see the lights. Highly recommend this set for Star Wars fans!

So glad to finally get this set! It was packed excellently, with a special part for the SMART brick and charger. Building it was amazing, and the play is great! It responds incredibly well to motion, color, etc. I'm very happy with this set! can't wait for more Smart play!

What an incredible piece of LEGO! The smart brick adds a whole new side to it. Love the noises and the reactions! Performs just like a real tie fighter! Highly recommend especially with the materials and smart brick
