LG NeoChef MS2336DB 23L Smart Inverter Microwave

This was replacement for an LG that died after 18mths ( magnetron failure). Covered by warranty for part only. Labour too expensive to fix. EXACTLY same thing happened with this one. 27mths magnetron failure.DO NOT BUY LG

Great little microwave. It was the only model that would fit in the tiny space provided in my modern sardine-can apartment. Unfortunately, the magnetron failed just weeks after the warranty expired. Ironically, the magnetron itself is covered for much longer, but the labour to replace it costs more than buying a new microwave, so it ends up in landfill instead. Even if the repair were affordable, the warranty process could take weeks to assess and verify the fault. I'd rather just buy a new one. Crazy consumerist society we live in.. it's incredibly wasteful.

We bought the LG NeoChef 23L Smart Inverter microwave for use in our studio and overall it does a good job. It heats food evenly, is easy to use, and the black looks clean and modern. The only downside is the sound — the beeps are quite loud and a bit high-pitched, which can be slightly annoying if you’re using it late at night or early in the morning. Not a dealbreaker, but something you do notice. Aside from that, it’s reliable and does exactly what you expect from an LG microwave. Solid appliance with good performance, just wish the sound alerts were a little quieter.

Microwave is not heating up. Had a replacement for the same issue and after couple of years it does on and off

I purchased an LG microwave, and within one year, the original unit developed rust around the roof light. JB Hi-Fi replaced it, but the replacement unit also developed rust within two years, causing the paint to bubble. JB Hi-Fi suggested it might be due to moisture build-up, but the microwave has a built-in extraction fan, and staff confirmed this shouldn’t happen. While the microwave functions properly, the recurring rust and paint bubbling indicate a manufacturing defect. JB Hi-Fi’s only solution was to go through SquareTrade or pay the difference for a new unit, which is disappointing given this is a replacement for a faulty product. I am currently pursuing a resolution through Consumer Protection. Be aware that this microwave may have longevity and quality issues, and customer support may not fully cover recurring defects.

Turning off the annoying sounds it makes every time it comes on or completes heating seems almost impossible.

Avoid this microwave. After three years it started producing sparks and flames, and is now a hazard to use. The same issue has occurred on a model owned by a family member

Excellent microwave, easy to use. Minimal use of manual - it is all intuitive

I've had ours for 4 1/2 years, I live alone so it's not used too often but I do use it every day. The jingle when it has finished is slightly annoying but no trouble. The microwave is clean like new, I like how you can just pull the door open and the simple controls. I'm pleased so far!

Ease of use and quick cooking time. Would have liked a flat plate as we use this in caravan and not having a glass dish would have been great. Otherwise very happy overall.

I bought an LG microwave many years ago, & it was just rubbish that didn't work correctly & rusted within 12 months. I therefore decided that I would never again buy an LG product. Due to the small size of my kitchen, there were only 2 microwave options available that would work in this space, & the LG 23L NeoChef turned out to be the best option & works ever so much better than the one I had beforehand. It's just a truly simple & wonderful microwave that does exactly what it is designed to accomplish, should it be by either just warming food up or by using it as a true cooking tool.

Looks great and works well ,the various menus are complicated

I returned the first one as unrepairable under warranty for a refund. Silly enough to buy a second one because of the combo function. Same faults with losing power to front control panel. Repaired under warranty. Failed again outside warranty. Where it belongs, in the rubbish tip. Worst Microwave we have ever owned. LG should have given everyone their money back.

Good solid basic microwave, just replaced an old model

Such a great little microwave for those with not much storage space! So easy to clean and heats up very efficiently. Also love the little song it plays when it is finished heating. Side note: I wasn’t a fan of the slanted heat up pad on the right as it kind of curves inwards but got use to it/we have it against a wall so it makes sense to have it curved so we can see if it it’s up against a wall

Love it. Just the ring tone itself is awesome. Food comes out good and a lot of the times evenly heated.

worked well for the first year and a bit, then one day it just stops heating. suspected dead magnetron would not buy again and not worth running around for the warranty.

First microwave lasted a year before stopped heating, replaced under warranty. Replacement microwave died after 2 years - same issue. Repair centre said common issue with LG microwaves that magnetron dies which was the issue with both of mine.

Really easy to use and looks great. Simplified for easy use
