Perfect for Cake, Surprising Origin

Perfect for Cake, Surprising Origin. Instead of using this sample for a curry, I baked a chocolate cake on Saturday. After draining off the liquid, the weight reduced from 425g to about 250g. These chickpeas were smaller and softer than other brands. The cake turned out moist and fluffy - hubby said he wouldn't have guessed that it was made from a tin of chickpeas. We enjoyed the chickpea cake very much, and if I ever run out of flour to make a cake, I know I can rely on tinned chickpeas. I was surprised to see these came from Italy, considering Australia is a top exporter growing them across QLD, NSW, SA, VIC, and WA. Why import Italian chickpeas instead of using local ones?

Chickpeas

Chickpeas. These were a very good price and ingredients are pretty good. Help their shape when rinsed and weren't mushy like I thought they would be. Would buy again as a household staple

Nice! I really like these. I kinda feel like I'm being a little healthy when eating them. The great thing is they can be added to so many different meals... they extend a meal if you're low on $ and being canned they last for a long time.
