Manfrotto Universal Smartphone Clamp

I bought this thinking there were enough positive reviews to take the chance. I regret it, deeply. Like so many of their products, the build quality makes a DIY version made from pop-sticks look like novelty craftmanship by comparison. The plastic side bracket broke - the part designed to be extended out to snap onto your phone. It was not overextended, or overused. It was my second time using it. JB Hi-Fi has absolutely no shame in charging you exorbitant prices for items with the structural integrity of used dunny paper. But don’t worry! They include a refund/warranty policy that is renowned for skipping every corner possible. I returned with proof of purchase to be told that although unintended, it wasn’t a manufacturing flaw, therefore a refund would not be possible. I’m sorry, but how is being completely unable to withstand its intended purpose for more than two uses, not a manufacturing flaw? Anyway, I suppose it’s me for choosing to purchase anything through JB’s instead of simply pouring my money down the drain.

This Junk, I cannot believe the price. Identical ones for 2 bucks you know where. Check out what Ulanzi are doing... this thing feels like its going to break itself or my phone every I use it. A cheap spring based device with no ergonomics of set up in mind at all. Especially because most users I can imagine will be taking on and off Frequently. Worst product. Extremely overpriced - I saw them at one point for $40+ dollars.. are you TRIPPING?!

I'm very happy with my purchase of the Manfrotto Universal Smartphone Clamp. It lives up to the promise of a handsfree phone stand when viewing videos and webinars. The screw attaches to a monopod, selfie stick or mini-tripod for added versatility. I always carry it with me!

unlike some other smartphone clamps, doesn’t have a coldshoe for attaching an external microphone

This product is good quality for the price, it does the job needed

Seems very solid and robust fits my S23 Ultra which is the biggest phone on the mainstream market, although it seems rather tight so time will tell how the springs inside hold up to repeated use.

Good mount for filming with phone on tripod. Plastic build but strong clamp and quite stable with an iPhone 13.

Very handy and compact. However the tension of the clamp is very tight, making it difficult to put on my phone (6.7"screen). NOTE: it is easy to disassemble and cut a bit of length off the 2 springs inside with some pliers/snips, and this makes it much easier to use.

A good option to hold a smartphone on a tripod, but it is a tight fit on larger phones with cases.

Does what it needs to do. Clamp is very tight so a little hard to get the phone in but it sure won't fall out.

Excellent value and well built clamp to fit on your existing Manfrotto tripods. Very Sturdy build and no issues whilst recording or taking photos.

A good little accessory, can fit a iPhone pro max model snugly and locks right into a tripod. The extra little kickstand built in means that I can use it to keep my phone at a viewable angle when on my desktop. Worth it.

Funtional - It does the job. Strong hold. good build

This clamp does the job if you only need to film in landscape mode, however if you want to film in portrait/upright (e.g. for IG reels) this product is not for you. I needed a clamp that I would be able to screw on to my tripod and film upright, and this is not possible with the Manfrotto clamp.

The stand on the back broke the first time I tried to pull it out

The flimsy stand on the back broke first use and the clamp is very tight on my phone. Not the quality i would expect from Manfrotto. Otherwise it does its job

Difficult to get the phone into the bracket. When screwed in to tripod it does not stay upright- it tilts to one side.

Fantastic piece of equipment. Consistent with Manfrotto’s high standard of product.

It is easy to use and has a strong grip. I don’t have to worry about my iPhone 12 Pro falling out.

Usual Manfrotto high standard - good phone grip, and a useful little rest at rear for hands free Zoom or FT.

Purchased to go with a tripod to hold my large iPhone. Worked well. Good value

Great phone mount, even comes with a built in kickstand. Fits my iPhone 7plus well and versatile between tripods/stands.

Bought this a few weeks ago for our business (gym). We have a tripod the members can use to video their exercises for technique review and content. It's easy to use, it does the job, it has fit everyone's smartphones no worries!

As an amateur photographer, I have used manfrotto products for 25 years. This claim is no exception to their high build quality and good design.

More adjustable than initially thought, it securely held my S10 i(inside it's case) with no issues or complaints. Multiple positions to attach to the tripod head, a solid investment for any recording or photography you may want to do with your phone

Solves the issue of low angle coverage as well as utilising broader smartphone features including torch for lego builds and other applications.

I was amazed at how well this worked and it attached to my tripod with ease.

Bought this four weeks ago and does what you need it to do. Easy to attach onto a tripod and adjust to landscape or portrait setting. The clamp is very secured (too secured that its tight and needs an easier to pull finger mold, hence only 4 stars). Still highly recommend for its purpose and value!
