Bad Battery Life

I have found that the battery once fully charged only lasts around 45-60 minutes on average, charging time is roughly the same 45-60 mins. Considering the price I would expect I would get more usage out of such a product.

A magical experience with slight OS problems

An absolutely amazing experience that can't be matched by anything with the same price!!! What you are getting for $800 is an incredibly good value compared to other headsets out there at the moment, with a ton of great games (including 3 free months of a lot of games), video apps (Disney+ now has an app as of this week), and productivity apps. The resolution, while a little choppy in passthrough, is stellar compared to the Quest 2, and its good enough to comfortably watch 1080p movies. The only downside is that because of the lens tech being used, this is a regular LED screen and not an OLED (so during dark/loading screens you will see a lot of grey). There's a very good game selection already out there on the Horizon Store, although you really need to dig through it to find its real gems because of the poor navigation in the store. Meta also just shut down most of its game studios, so it's pretty unknown whether or not they will keep up their streak of games. You can also easily connect this to a gaming computer through a special USB-C cable (or with something like Steam Link or Virtual Desktop) to do PCVR, which *really* unlocks way more cooler and better looking games than what the Quest 3's mobile processor can handle. The only major gripe I have had with my Quest in the 6 months I have owned one is the confusing updates that Meta keeps pushing out. They recently changed their UI to look more like the Vision Pro's (called "Navigator") and I personally really enjoyed the new design, but they completely randomly removed it in the latest update and went back to the old (well, current) "Universal" UI. These weird decisions are not very uncommon, like removing 15 or so virtual environments for just 3 (later 4), features constantly shifting, the slight neglect of the native PCVR link, and more. I don't understand why there isn't a solid base for the OS of this device, but the changes made have not been terrible enough where I stopped using it. The Quest 3 is still a very capable device, but you can tell that Meta is mismanaging the OS and software while they try to build out glasses tech. Overall, if you want the absolute best easy entry into the world of VR without spending thousands of dollars, this would be my top pick. You get a lot of great experiences and great hardware for how much it costs, but sometimes that also means wrestling with the constantly shifting OS.

Frustrated

Don’t buy a Meta Quest 3 unless u are a geek and don’t mind installing 3rd party apps that may or may not work. 35% ok and 65% frustrating. Mine I could not change the resolution - I’m sure a 3s is better and if sidequest works it doesn’t next time and ADB wireless needs to be enabled and ???…

Far better than expected

For the longest time I've shied away from Oculus/Meta products as I've never been interested in their previously lower quality experience. But with my Vive Cosmos Elite finally hitting the end of its life, this was my only real upgrade available. And man, do I wish I had picked it up sooner. Pros: - Lightweight - Visual Clarity is amazing - Controllers feel great to use in a range of games. Both the buttons and the sensors that can tell if your thumb is resting against it or if you are pointing forwards rather than resting against the trigger. - Sound Quality is better than you might expect - Getting it to sit comfortably while finding the 'sweet spot' wasn't a hassle at all. - As a PCVR user, Being able to link it to my PC via the local home Wifi is amazing. Makes me wish I hadn't bothered buying the Link Cable alongside it in the first place. Cons: - You're forced to download a meta App to your phone and have Meta's Storefront more or less pushed onto you. Making a Meta Horizons Avatar is mandatory even if you have no interest in using it. - 2 Hour battery life by default is awful. Personally I fixed this with a Power Bank in my pocket and a cable up behind me. - The Light bleed thanks to the gap between your nose and the inside of the headset isn't great. I'd also add you need to be in a Lit environment to use the Boundary setup which can be seen as a downside meaning you can't avoid Light bleed. But at the same time, the boundary tech they use makes packing the headset up and using it later a breeze. It might not be the PERFECT VR headset. But it's close. And well worth grabbing whether a Casual user, or someone who has a beefy Desktop to get the most out of VR.

Amazing experience, blown away

I've had the Quest 3 for about a month now, and honestly, it's blown me away. I had no idea how much VR would change the way I experience games and apps. You’re not just playing anymore — you're in it. Everything feels so real and immersive. I’ve found myself playing all kinds of games I’d never usually touch because it’s just such a different experience in VR. If you’re into relaxing stuff, try VR fishing — it’s weirdly peaceful and scenic. On the flip side, boxing gets your heart rate up like a real workout, and PvP shooters are intense — you actually need good movement and aim, it’s not just button mashing. There are also these psychedelic visual apps that are totally mind-blowing — like meditation meets a trip through space. Super chill and a great way to wind down. Honestly, if I knew how good this was going to be, I would’ve bought it the day it came out. It’s one of those things you don’t really get until you try it — but once you do, it’s hard to go back to regular screens. I even checked out some adult content out of curiosity — and yeah, it’s on another level too. If you’re on the fence, just get it. It’s not perfect, but it’s easily one of the coolest pieces of tech I’ve ever owned.
