Prime example of a fun scifi game

Prime 1 will always be the high-water mark for this branch of the Metroid series but Prime 4 hooked me with its beautiful art design, tight gameplay, powerful score and jaw dropping graphics. Sure, Nintendo could have fleshed out the plot (especially the big bad) and further developed the open hub element but moment to moment I loved playing this game and being in this world.

Metroid: Oh how I missed you

The game has the classic Metroid feel that we love while also feeling modern in other areas. Some of the Halo developers worked on this game and it shows in its wonderful cinematic cutscenes and with more human emotion injected into the franchise. The game does balance this and still provides the feeling of isolation in an alien world that fans love. The game offers 4K/60fps and 1080p/120fps modes that are locked and both look stunning. I highly recommend this game if you’re a fan of the series or just want a starting point.
