Bass lacking compared to JBL. Even the smaller JBLs are considerably more punchy. Great build quality and mostly happy with RGB effects. Some of them tend to stutter but appears to be part of the effects. Included microphone appears to be of good quality, includes display. Battery life 50/50, takes a while to recharge too. Only regret is sound quality.
Bought this speaker on pure impulse. Aesthetically speaking. It looks modern, sleek and funky! Size wise. It is a similar, yet Skinner version of the JBL stage 320, with a lighter weight to it. The front face has a multitude of RGB led light effects. Some standard patterns and some sound reactive to the music. Not a crazy wild light show to the likes of, let's say, a JBL party box 120. But still adequate for adding a lighting mood to the party. The sides have the MONSTER branding that light up also with the RGB lights on the front. A rather cool feature. Sound wise. It is quite good for what it is. Quite clear and loud! Adequate for a small to medium sized room in the home. Will be more than enough for a small gathering outdoors. But ain't no wedding trendsetter. Bass levels are quite balanced and not over the top and in your face like a JBL. Which may dissapoint some bass heads! BUT the bass is there. The top panel has BASS and TREBLE adjustments, where the level is shown by the RGB led strip above the buttons. And also has an OUTDOOR and INDOOR EQ setting. Pressing the EQ button cycle's between the two. INDOOR is a more balanced sound where OUTDOOR increases the mid to high range sound, to help it project more loudly, but at the sacrifice of some bass levels. It conveniently has an on board built in AC charger that connects straight to your wall power socket, with its provided AC power chord. Allowing it to be used, while it charges the built in battery. Advertising states "up to 22 hours" of running time on the battery. But I'm gonna be real and predict that 22 hours of rough battery life, would be be at a volume of 50% or less with the party lights turned off. And also depends on what kind of music is playing, whether it be easy listening low key music or bass heavy EDM. Has the standard volume setting adjustments for speaker, microphone, guitar. When playing from your phone, speaker volume adjusts with the phone directly and vice versa. Also has microphone echo effect adjustment also. 120 WATT of PEAK POWER. Remember that PEAK POWER is the sound output that it MIGHT output at a short given moment during playback and not constantly. Real power output probs be half that at a constant of about 60-80 watts. Which is still plenty loud enough for in the home for a casual get together or small gathering outdoors. It doesn't suffer the power difference when powered by 240v or the built in battery. Unlike some speakers that have their full potential when plugged, but then reduce their performance slightly, when running on battery. It claims an IP4 water splash rating, With the rear rubber cover securely closed over the charging ports. Which in short means it's fine with LIGHT splashes of water. But drowing it in a heavy flow of water from the likes of a hose is not recommended. Nor should it be submerged in water Overall I am happy with my impulse purchase.
