Preparation: In order for this dressing to work properly: Thoroughly clean and rinse area. Stop any bleeding. Allow the skin to dry completely. For best results, the dressing should be large enough to have a margin which adheres to dry, healthy skin around the wound. Dressing Application: 1. Peel open the package and remove the sterile dressing. 2. Peel the paper liner from the paper-framed dressing, exposing adhesive surface. Hold dressing only on the frame ends, being careful not to touch the adhesive. 3. Centre the dressing over the site. Do not stretch the dressing while applying. If the dressing is being used over a joint, bend the joint prior to application. Gently smooth the dressing from the centre toward the edges. 4. Press down around the dressing on the frame and then remove the paper frame from the dressing and smooth down dressing edges with a finger. 5. Rub firmly over the entire dressing. Dressing Removal: Gently grasp the edge of the dressing and slowly peel dressing back over itself, 'low and slow', in the same direction the hair lies. If the dressing sticks to the wound surface or skin and is difficult to remove, soak the dressing in warm water or use baby oil at the dressing edges to gently ease the dressing off the skin.
