One year later, holding up very well!

Purchased these roughly a year ago as of this review (04/2025) when previously switching from iPhone + AirPods Pro to the Nothing Phone (2a) and these earbuds. At the time there were a couple really minor bugs with in-ear detection and battery life when streaming in LDAC, but I'm happy to say these issues have since been resolved with recent firmware updates via the Nothing X app. The sound quality is superb and outperforms equivalently priced and more expensive earbuds when it comes to articulation and clarity in the high-end when configured to use hi-res audio (LDAC) on Android. I can also confirm that AAC streaming with Apple devices works completely fine too, on par with the encoding performance with AirPods. The battery life was previously only about 2 hours at best using LDAC, but after the recent update I can confirm that these last about 4 hours using LDAC with ANC on, and around 5 hours using AAC with ANC on, so spot on with the battery life claims. A year later after using these day-in-day-out commuting to and from University and on several flights since, the battery performance seems to be holding up fine. No degradation issues so far. The build quality is also good. I was mentally preparing for visible scratches to show up on the clear housing, but that has yet to really happen. The white plastics haven't degraded or yellowed, and there haven't been any issues whatsoever with the adhesives. The hinge for the case itself is also solid. For the price these are definitely decent. These are nice pick from Nothing's audio range if you don't see yourself using the Super Mic feature with the newer Ear (3) model and you value high quality sound and audio encoding/decoding performance.

YOU NEED THESE!

You need the Nothing APP!.. I think people are just using them without downloading the app so their reviews aren’t that great, you need the app to fine tune these!. These are the second pair of Nothing earbuds, my previous pair was one of the first generation ones and was impressed by those, but these however are much MUCH better, the bass is sooo good on these.. it’s big.. and heavy deep rich bass, super clear high tones for the price you pay you get awesome quality, these are not cheap looking, this is a high quality product.. even the case feels solid. I’ve had SONY, BOSE, SYNTHESISER, JBL and hands down NOTHING beats the NOTHING brand.. buy these!.

Average / Ordinary Product

Not impressed. Reading all the positive reviews led me to believe that it's a higher quality product than what it actually is. ANC is almost non existent and the sound quality is okay. Does the job. Just would've expected more for the price.

Too touchy. Needs work

Not good for people with long hair. The thing keeps pausing! It also needs wings to hold it in the ears properly (yes I’ve tried the other earbud sizes)

Meh

I’ve used these for a month now. They are good to a degree but they keep falling out of my ears. Regardless of which sizes I use. I’d much rather have bought a different set of buds. I’m looking at selling them. They also are really touchy with playing and pausing. Active noise cancelling is okay but there’s better. If you don’t care then sure get them. But at this price point, I want quality.

Exactly what I was looking for

The noise cancelling is good for those, like me, who have anxiety and don't enjoy the total cut off from the world that ANC can offer. Still allows some ambient noise to get through for awareness but doesn't ruin the sound. The sound quality is just as good as samsung buds and bose in ear headphones that I have owned previously. Happy I bought them.

A GREAT BUY JUST READ THE REVIEWS

I had been an over ear listener and then purchased these fabulous buds. The sound is crisp and clear with real depth. I have found the noise cancelling is better when you up the size of the rubber ear piece. Overall these are fabulous for the price and would absolutely buy them again. I actually went through all the reviews on here to purchase these, they had the highest stars so I went with others opinions and in this case it paid off. Don't hesitate just buy them they are worth the money for sure!

Outstanding for phone calls but stops there for me

The best part of these headphones for me are the phone calls, the mic transmit and receive are really impressive they don’t pick up all the background noise as most the headphones on the market do, which is one of the main reasons why I bought them. Cons, the after service is pretty disappointing having to contact via email there is no store or phone number to contact for warranty issues or assistance. Their assistance is all the way in honk Kong so if you need parts or a replacement you’re paying $50 postage. I also think the usability of having to pinch the stem is pretty average, every time you pinch it it tends to move the head phone in your ear so having to readjust becomes quite frequent throughout the day if you’re a constant song skipper. They also aren’t tracked so if you lose one and you aren’t within 5 meters to play the noise they offer on “find my headphone” then you won’t ever see it again Lastly the case is a poor design it just doesn’t feel natural placing the headphones back in the case, it is also quite large and bulky compared to its competitors on the market.

Love them!

For a company that's only been making earphones for a bit over 3 years, these buds are mighty impressive in what they offer. As a reference, in our home over the last 5-6 years, we've purchased a couple of dozen different Bluetooth earphones / buds. From a variety of more recognizable manufacturers, across a whole gamut of price-points - from the very cheap to the very premium. The Nothing Ear 2024 has the form factor, comfort, sound and customization options to compete with nearly all the buds we've got. They're nuanced enough to provide clarity and subtlety to keep a Beethoven fan relatively content, yet can also put a smile on the face of most bass-heads with a little tweaking of their full featured EQ. People have commented about the Nothing Ear's ANC being somewhat "average". Owning a couple of the leaders in the ANC stakes, I agree that those are better - especially at the mid to higher frequencies. But if you don't have those as point of comparison, I reckon you'll be pretty happy with what they'll cut out - especially on public transport, etc. I'd have loved to see for more actual silicone ear tips to come with them instead of merely small / medium / large - it just helps with getting a better seal. (3rd party tips can certainly help here.) But all up, for their normal retail price, I think they're very good value. And if you can pick them up on sale like we recently did, I think they're an absolute steal!

AMAZING

Great sound quality, best EQ app I've ever used. I had the Galaxy buds2 pro and these are significantly better. The only thing is if you are after noise cancellation or transperancy mode these aren't the best for price. If you're considering these just go for it, especially on sale.

Incredible Quality incredible value for money!

Honestly was so blown away at the crisp quality of the audio these headphones deliver for the price the quality of the build and sound is impeccable. The App Is also easy to use and set out really well ! I Have swapped my over $400 set to these and won't be changing back. Incredible product. Really really good sound. And I don't usually review the products I buy but this was one of those products I had to tell everyone about.

High end build, affordable price

Amazing product for the price point. ANC works well but drains the battery, as expected. Biggest game changer is that it comes preloaded with chatgpt. This feature is not a gimmick, I use it daily!

Decent for $249

Decent earbuds and sound quality is amazing. Noise cancelation and transparency mode are not the best but for $249 it is decent enough. Have tried airpods 2nd gen, sony xm5 earbuds and bose QC ultra earbuds, bose remain have the best sound quality in the market, but "nothing" is not far behind. One problem i found is when listening music at the highest volume the bass is kinda muffled somehow which I never have that problem with any other earbuds before. It's worth to give these earbuds a try but I definitely would go back to bose in terms of sound quality especially im a bass head because their sound quality is not compromised even at highest volume especially the bass. Never have problem with connectivity and charging problem yet. The app seems very stable and can recognised the earbuds as soon i connected the earbuds with my phone. Also, love how fast when updating these earbuds!
