Fit for purpose. My daughter has a LOT of fine hair, so for everyday pony tails etc these are no good - she just has too much hair. We have tried a couple and even with a single plait we've struggled to get it over the extra bit without it snapping. But they are handy for smaller jobs where she just needs to tie small amounts of hair, such as the end of multiple plaits, or for smaller sectioned bits of hair. They can usually be used a couple of times, but stretch pretty quickly. Luckily we don't use a lot, so I don't get too hung up on the less-than-desirable environmental aspect of these, as a pack will last a long time.

Good ol’ elastics. Needed to do some braids so these came in handy to tie up the ends, wish they were edible but unfortunately not. Still decent though.

Handy. These are handy for small plaits and pigtails. Quite stretchy and strong for their size. One the kids used a handful in her craft box to hold some fake flowers together and they served the purpose well, so more than just a hair tie.
