Otrivin Menthol Nasal Spray combines the instant freshness of menthol with the active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride. Xylometazoline hydrochloride helps to open up and clear nasal passages by reducing nasal congestion. It can ease nasal congestion related to a cold, hay fever or other allergic rhinitis and sinusitis.
For adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 spray per nostril. Use 2 –3 times daily, as needed. Do not exceed 3 applications in each nostril daily. Do not use more often than every 8-10 hours. Do not exceed recommended dosage.1. Before first use, remove protective cap and press applicator until an even spray is produced.2. You may need to repeat this if you have not used the spray for longer than 6 days. Do not cut the nozzle.3. Blow nose gently to clear.4. Insert nozzle into nostril and press applicator firmly once while sniffing deeply.5. Withdraw nozzle and release applicator.6. Repeat in other nostril.7. Wipe nozzle clean and replace cap.

Keep out of reach of children.Do not use for more than 3 days at a time unless advised by a doctor or pharmacist. Always check the ingredients to make sure you can use this medicine.You have had the pituitary gland removed by operation through the nose.You have undergone recent trans-nasal surgery (brain surgery where the operation was carried out through the nose or mouth).You have narrow angle glaucoma (increased pressure in eyes).You have chronic nasal inflammation with very dry nasal passages (rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis).You are pregnant.Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you:Are breast feeding, pregnant or trying to become pregnant.Have any other medical conditions (high blood pressure; heart disease (e.g. long QT syndrome); an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism); diabetes; difficulty in urinating and/or an enlarged prostate gland (prostatic hypertrophy); a tendency to have nose bleeds; has a rare tumour of the adrenal gland that produces high amounts of adrenaline and noradrenaline (phaeochromocytoma)).Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including any medicines, vitamins or supplements that you buy without a prescription from your pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop.
