Philips DAB/FM Alarm Clock Radio

Great product everything I want in one place but I can’t change to the correct time I changed the date but it won’t let me change the actual time 🤷🏽‍♂️

Philips It’s a brand i have come to trust OVER THE YEARS. From walkman to car audio ( realize -Now Eclipse-)

The process for setting up alarm times ( the primary function of an alarm clock!) is non intuitive and very fiddly. Takes may attempts to get it done right- seems to use the same chip, with the same failings - it’s necessary to turn the system off to set it- as the$10 radio alarm clocks but with a better sound system

Extremely over priced. Wireless charge and USB charge is extremely slow. Speaker quality is very poor. If this was $49-$69 it may be worth it. But $169 I expected a whole lot better. At least faster charging and better speakers. Look for cheaper ones. I wish I didn’t throw the box out. I’m extremely disappointed and unsatisfied. I wish I could return it.

I bought this clock because I needed a clock radio in my bedroom. Initial setup wasn’t too bad but it’s very annoying that I need to reset the station every night when I turn it on and use the sleep timer. I’ve followed the preset instructions but it will not hold the am radio station I want to listen to. The sound quality is quite good and it’s a good size that doesn’t take up too much room on my bedside table. The charging feature is handy but I don’t use it a lot.

I would like to give a way better rating but for a couple of really big flaws. The electric plug is multi country and the attached one we have is loose. I used tape to hold it together otherwise it falls and stops the electricity from going to the clock. In the room at night the clock will throw shadows on the roof like when l move my arm's in bed.

The design used to adapt the power plug for Australia is hopeless. Done to save cost, but it should be sold with the correct fitting. The alarm is hard to set. Time display is good and sound from speakers is nice.

Should be a great little clock radio but is spoilt because the channel memory does not work properly. They should come up with w software fix.

I like the fact it also has a charging pad and usb power outlet. I struggled with the quick start guide - apart from seeing that i shouldn't leave it our in a rainstorm of cook it on the BBQ. Do yourself a favour. Go to the Philips website and hunt through 'til you find the instruction manual :-)

I was disappointed that the alarm could only come on to a default station which I don’t like. And then it is only on for half an hour. I wasted a lot of time trying to get it to do what my old one did with no success. I have gone back to my old Panasonic which is more user friendly, wasted my money

this is my second DAB clock radio so much easier to use, set & alarm. more intuitive my only down is with DAB, listening to desired station when turning off then on again. DAB has reverted to random station, not last used. instructions are vague, am i doing the right thing to operate it?

This clock/radio is very easy to use. Wonderful sounding radio and clock numbers that you can change brightness to three settings. A neat looking unit and not a bulky object to have on your bedside table. A radio you can set to play for up to 2 hours for auto turn off is very handy. Exact clock/radio I was looking for.

I like the radio overall but find having tokeep changing to the station I want really annoying

Doesn't remember the station it was set to. Can't specify a preset to use with the alarm. When turned on or alarm goes off it will play the first auto-scanned station. Quite useless really. DAB has very poor reception

Good quality sound and great features. Like most DAB+ radios, it lacks an external antenna input so if you live in a fringe area you'll get no DAB signal. FM reception is pretty good though with the wire antenna extended vertically. The display is just a tiny bit bright (on low setting) for me, but acceptable. If you need to sleep in total darkness, look elsewhere. The fast wireless charging works great on my Samsung phone, even through a 3.5mm case. A little expensive, but the build quality is very good. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this clock/radio.

Great little clock radio - wireless charging is awesome! One downside is dimmer can’t turn off - is only high, medium and low - but I’m still managing to get to sleep as low isn’t too bright - also lowest volume on radio is quite loud, but again, I’m still managing to fall asleep. So am happy with my purchase and how much more space I have on bedside drawers!

This is a clock alarm that does not allow you to wake up to a radio station of your choosing. It fundamentally does not perform the only function you buy this for

Very badly designed. Settings are ridiculously fiddly and setting alarm is always a chore. The Qi charging is next to useless and can take more than 12 hours to fully charge an iPhone

Very easy to set up. Just put in backup batteries and plug it in and the time is automatically set, as is the date. I downloaded the 14 page user manual from Philips which has very clear, easy to follow instructions on setting up and using all the features. The display brightness has three settings and after reading some of the reviews was concerned it might be too bright even on the lowest setting, but this is not the case. The wireless charging works very well and my phone will charge from about 50% to full in under 40 minutes.

Love the size of this. Really hard to find a simple DAB and bluetooth clock radio. Love the automatic date and time, and nice clear display. Speakers sound surprisingly good given the size. Bluetooth works quite well - rarely have trouble connecting. Would be better if bluetooth supported multiple devices. However, the UI is really poor, hence the low score. Confusing buttons and layered menus. Inability to choose preset DAB station for alarm. Hard to quickly navigate through preset stations. Frustrating that some settings - like alarm - can only be set when device is powered down. The buttons are small and hard to discern, particularly when in bed, darkness in the evening. The large display is dominated by large "time" meaning navigating menus is done in a very small text at the bottom of display. A lot of this would be fine if the device came with a remote or had support for a remote control, allowing for much better control and interface. But the lack of remote means this otherwise powerful device suffers a lot.

Very functional alarm clock with dual alarms. The brightness can be adjusted which is great and the clock face is easy to read. The wireless charging is a nice feature but charges very slowly I tend to use the USB at the back in stead.

Expensive! And the clock time was not accurate, our clock 'self adjusted' the time to be incorrect by 30 - 45 minutes every day.. we correct the time and the clock then changes the time!! Bizarre.

I like it! I read the reviews about the bright clock light and the crappy bass and got it anyway. Not sure what you are playing but all my music sounds great given the small size of this unit and the light on low is not that overwhelming.

Very versatile as a radio, alarm, and speaker for Bluetooth- needs a bit learning so download the easy to understand and short manual

This clock radio looks good & offers lots of great features, including charging my phone without cables. I was a bit surprised when I opened it up to see that the plug attachment didn't fit into an Australian power point. The instructions were silent on this pretty key point, but a friend figured out how to change the plug fitting (simple when you know how). This clock radio takes batteries as a backup (in case of power failure) but seemed to need them to work at all, so I stuck 'em in and started following the instructions. Couldn't get past step 1 ("set time"). Tried again the next day. Couldn't get the time to set. And there were a 1,000 more steps in the micro-print instructions after setting the time. Put it all back in the box, gave it to a friend with more patience than me & bought a much cheaper, MUCH simpler clock radio.

Good product, just a bit too over-priced for a simple alarm clock with wireless charging. Not much use having a radio with DAB out central west though!

Great display, easy to read. Tricky to set up & can’t see the alarm buttons in the dark (not back lit). Average sound quality.

This Clock Radio is pretty good but does have a few minor set backs. Audio quality for its size is okay, but it doesn’t have a rich bass. Programming and set up can be a bit fiddly. The QI charging can get a little confused especially if you have a protective QI compatible case and its not exactly centred. It has 3 brightness levels of which the lowest is way too bright at night for my liking, I'm going to attach window tint to mine. DAB with time and date being automatic is great for daylight savings, as is the battery back up.
