Space saving, D batteries

I know this doesn't use rechargeable batteries as I read the description. It uses 2 double D batteries. Unfortunately my power point has interference so I have to use batteries. I bought this so I can leave my mobile phone away in bedroom. Doom scrolling too much. Works great for AM radio. Using brand name alkaline batteries. Won't use cord. My dad had one of these shape radios, so fond memories. On sale, couldn't resist.

Who uses non rechargeable DD batteries any more?

Sales person at JB said the radio takes 4 x AAA batteries. It doesn't. It takes 2 x DD bateries. We wanted a replacement for our old radio which used rechargable batteries (which we have - and the charger for them). Not recommended if a cordless radio is required.
