Philips TAR3306/79 Large Display FM Dual Alarm Clock

The controls are anti-intuitive and the radio antennae is poor. Probably the worst thing is that all the controls are on the top so that when you reach out to do any action, you are likely to trigger the wrong thing. This means when you press to reduce the brightness, it’s easy to accidentally hit the radio on or the alarm and then you’re trying to stop it blaring (think 5am) you can’t find the right button. All the buttons are multi-functional and either operate the radio or the alarm, but here’s the real problem: depending on what specific mode it’s in within the radio or alarm mode, the button does different things! Honestly, it’s not even good as a clock radio because the dimmest setting still lights up a dark room. It looks great, which is why it gets 1 star. Do not buy this for anyone elderly.

Terrible product, couldn’t pick up even 1 radio station.

The clock is easy to set up and use with good quality. However, it is very hard to read the digital displaced screen at daytime when it is sunny day outside even the brightness level has been set up to maximum. The displaced at nighttime is fine.

Does work, To set time put in standby mode. This will be noticed by pressing the power button and not being able to change frequency(its power off) then set time for 2 secs and use HR/MN to set current time- to set alarm put on standby mode and hold Al1 or AL2 for 2 secs then set what time for alarm to sound (bell on display is beating. AL.Fm is waking up to the radio that has been set ( batteries only serve to keep setting when AC power is disconnected)

Clear and precise numbers, on time and radio settings

There is a lot to like about this clock radio, modern look, easy to read display with ample amount of dimming, the programming of the time and pre-sets is easy, BUT when the radio's volume is set to the lowest audible setting of 1 it is way to loud to listen to while going to sleep, it can be heard in the bedroom next door which makes it totally uses as a bedside radio to drift of to sleep to as advertised

No good instructions are provided. Hard to work out to use. Very disappointed.

This is the worst product I have ever bought. Absolute waste of money. The instructions are useless and it’s next to impossible to set the alarm. JB should not be selling this.

Returned this clock as it was hard to set the time on the clock and the 12.38 number displayed was still reflected in the background on the clock when you set the new time. Bought another radio clock with no issues to set the time etc.

This was a repeat purchasefor my son, simple to use and clear display.

Bought for dual alarm and digital tuner functionality. Really like this clock radio.Digital fm radio presets can be scanned automatically or entered manually. I love digital tuners.Good quality and easy to use.

Instructions are less than ordinary and almost impossible to get alarm clock to work even then you can't be sure if it's on or will work. Useless as an alarm click throw it in the bin. Should have read reviews before buying.

The display was hard to tell the difference between what was lit and what wasn't

The battery slot doesnt work, this alarm gives a slot for the batteries but when it is not connected to the powerpoint, the alarm doesnt work anymore, even with full batteries in it, but other than that, everything else is perfect.

The person I bought it for found it too hard to work out how to set it up . So had to return it for them .

the instructions were really poor on the unit supplied. only graphical and way too brief. i paid for what i thought would be a great unit, but its basically crap. i will be buying a new one, NOT from JBHIfi as i asked for assistance, recommended and went with the more expensive unit, and its very difficult to set as alarm, alter daily if needed, volume for alarm to come on appears to be none adjustable, and wont seem to come on with music instead which is what i wanted. it could be i am not setting it correctly, but that then is simply becasue the instructions are CRAP.

Wanted a battery back up clock but batteries didn t work.

Poor Quality - bought as gift - did not work (why do I need to type more?)

When I took it home and tried to set it up I found the screen was faulty and stuck on 1 number only and not allowing to change the time or alarm so I had to take it back and I got a different brand.

The only issue we have with the clock radio is that the wake-up volume cannot be controlled and it gets uncomfortably loud.
