I’m extremely happy with this simple to use product, putting water in is easy with the large opening and the ‘auto steam’ function is a dream, not having to worry about adjusting it for each type of fabric is amazing!
It is a beautiful, light iron with great features and a good price. But it has failed within 12 months of purchase- literally "on the blink". See vid.
Very easy to use - auto sets the temperature depending on the item being ironed. Large tank for steam. Best iron we've had so far.
I bought this to replace my 15 year old iron. Tech has changed a bit in 15 years! I love the way this new one auto sets the temperature (so you can’t burn fabrics like I used to!). There’s heaps of steam, so I don’t need to spray my linens with water or an ironing aid, so I save on space! Love it!
Horrible product the handle started cracking with in 3 months
Bought this new Philip Steam Iron, as our old Philip Iron of 10 years plus, packed up. Unfortunately this new iron failed to work properly, failed to give steam in the vertical position. Had to be returned, and opted to buy a similar Philip Iron to our previous. Very disappointed, so looking forward to retaining the new nPhilip,Iron.
I love this iron, magic how it knows what temperature it needs for each different article needing to be ironed. One caution only, difficult to see water level in the tank, can easily run dry. Perhaps Phillips designers could look at this issue. Other that it's a great iron.
After only 6 months it's leaking water from the base? It also struggles to get enough steam to remove creases. Paid extra $$$ due to the good reviews and reputation of this model, but am now faced with having to replace it !
I purchased this iron two years ago, assuming that a higher price would mean better quality and fewer issues. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. Over the past few months, it has started leaving brown stains on my clothes. Despite my attempts to clean it, the internal pipes have rusted, making it beyond repair. In addition to that, the iron takes a long time to heat up and consumes a lot of water during use. It’s also quite heavy, which makes it uncomfortable for longer ironing sessions. Overall, this has been a poor investment. I expected durability and performance, but it hasn't delivered on either. I now have to throw it away. Honestly, a cheaper model would have performed just as well—if not better.
This iron did the job when it was working. Ironing only once a week for a family of 3, our first one lasted 11 months before breaking. The replacement under warranty one also lasted only 11 months. I guess Philips haven't quite figured out how to make it break at 13 months just after warranty (instead of just within). More max greed R&D-ing before launch, chaps.
It's a great iron for ironing, it gets creases out easily (better than any other I've used) and it auto adjusted between different fabrics. If it was just that, I'd happily give it 5 stars But Its construction is very flimsy. I've had it less than 6 months and handle is already cracked and it wobbles while you use it. I'm not a rough user, never had this happen ever before with an iron. It's very disappointing as this is an expensive iron.
This iron feels heavy enough to do great job, but, wow I was wrong. It is no where near as good as my 20 year old philips shot of steam iron. My work shirt was still crinkled after spending more time than usual ironing it. I expected alot better from a high end reputable brand. Not Happy.
I've had this for a year or so now and it is worth every dollar. I was considering getting a steamer as I had had so much trouble ironing delicate things with my previous iron. But this thing runs over even silky things that a normal iron would've stuck to and melted, and you don't even need to adjust anything. The only thing that kind of stumps it is kids leggings with little ornamental glittery bits. After many months of use, it did start to occasionally spew out some dirty steam, but that's probably on me for not cleaning the calc trap as often as I should. I would buy this iron again without hesitation.
Why can't you provide written instructions for the iron settings. The pictures are useless. What are the settings?
Hi I have been unable to find the instruction manual - there was none in the box and I am likely not looking in the right place but cant find instructions on the site. Rating could change if I could work out how to use this iron/spaceship HELP !
This for some one who hates ironing has totally changed my opinion about doing the ironing. I know look forward to using it .
Has issues not staying on for long poor quality faulty
Best iron ever. Idiot proof. Just add water. Be boring forever after talking about the iron that adjusts to the fabric itself and does a great job on everything. Makes ironing fun. Can’t believe it. Love this thing.
My disappointment is due to the plastic cover for the water reservoir. It broke on it's first use, is flimsy and not ideal for a right-handed person. The remainder of the Unit is great.
I chose this iron because my friend recommended it to me. The only downside it takes quite a while to warm back up, even after turning off to refill the water tank.
Once you've navigated the brief product manual (should be more detailed for each feature with English wording at each step) and tried all the features, the ironing is beautiful to use. No more water/starch spraying to soften the fabric to get the wrinkles out! Not heavy at all when you consider your ironing time is now halved. I'm a brand new user yet I'm impressed from the very start.
I couldn't get this product in my local electrical store because apparently they are more expensive than most are prepared to pay for an iron. Well ....it's worth it. As a 36 year old this is the first time in my life I actually feel like I can iron clothes to a high standard, and it is not even hard. I too thought the instruction manual was a bit light on at first but that's only because you don't really need to know anything, the iron does it all by itself. I think it creates far more steam than most irons and uses this to iron the clothes rather than contact with hot metal, hence the guarantee of no burned clothes, yep, no issues here. Because of the insane amount of steam it makes it uses water faster than my last iron, but because of the calcium collection tank, I just use normal tap water, so no issue. When ironing the iron makes an interesting haptic feedback "clicking" type sensation to confirm the steam is working, the best way I can describe it is like when typing on a mobile phone. Spend the extra on this iron, it is worth it. Life is too short to spend 20 minutes ironing a pair of pants only to have creases at the end!
Automatically adjusts heat based on clothing type which is fantastic 👌
Overall I really love this iron. My concern is that it does not get hot enough for linens to do them properly?
I only bought this iron yesterday, tried it today and I can already tell that I have made the right choice. The iron is so easy to use and works so smoothly. Takes out creases easily. I'm pleasantly surprised as I wasn't sure what to expect with the no dial control but it seems to adjust brilliantly so far.
This is my second iron in a few months. Had a replacement under warranty and now THAT one is broken (replaced in May 2023). So as much as I like the way it irons, if it doesn't last more than a few months and I can't rely on it, I will have to switch to another brand. Very very disappointed.
I made sure I did as much research on this iron before I decided to spend this amount of money for this very high end steam iron and honestly it was worth it! The technology blows me away, it somehow knows what temperature setting it needs to change for different fabrics and its just really powerful! Its definately worth buying it if you want an iron that does what it's says it supposed to do. The steam is powerful and it irons out creases on sheets and jeans and thick cotton type fabrics and it glides. The downside is that it is a bit heavy so if you have alot of ironing to do this will start to put a strain on your wrist. It also doesn't come with a water pourer (or if it did there wasn't one in the box). I just love using this iron!! I'm very happy I got this!
Purchased mostly for my wife who actually selected it. This iron so far does what it says! We find it unbelievably good. It actually DOES cut down ironing time and that's with a very fussy ironer. We have gone from ironing delicate shirts to heavy jeans and back again without any problems. We have already recommended this iron to a couple of friends who are looking at a new iron.
Nice product with auto heat control based on garment type . I got it for good bargain price
I had to ask my wife. She said it irons with one stroke and not having settings makes it easier as the iron does the thinking
