Scosche magicMOUNT Original Car Mount

Got the bloke in the shop to unbox it so I could test the magents. Using the super thin metal backing plate (which I intended to stick the back of my phone cover) the magnets are SUPER STRONG! I have no idea what the 1 star boffins are talking about! Used isopropyl to clean the blank plate on the dash for the mount and the back of my phone cover for the metal plate. Both the phone holder and meal plate stuck on really strongly! The ball joint firms up nicely and holds the phone as I set it rock solid (tested on the 30min drive home from the shop). Maybe those without mechanical sympathy over tightened the collar from the get go and caused it to fall...? I'm so happy with its neat little size and functionality that if the ball joint eventually comes lose I'll just super glue it. And if the sticky bits for either fail I'll get some expensive 3M double sided tape from the hardware. The strong magnet is great! What I love about it most is that it's small backing plate for the dash mount sticker is neat and small enough to attach to a blank switch plate on the dash, so I'm not attaching it to a permanent part if the dash (the blanks are replaceable if needed). And, it's not blocking an air vent or stuck the front window getting cooked in the sun, blocking vision or too far to reach. Best one I've ever used! Will recommend this to anyone asking about car phone holders!

Terrible the car mount doesnt work well and its too small

It’s probably rubbish doesn’t hold the phone on the dashboard properly. If you hit a bump, it falls off the magnet is not strong enough to hold the phone on the dashboard.

Saw some reviews online as it was voted one of the best car phone mounts. Bought it and it's exactly as claimed. Sticks solidly to the dashboard, magnets keep your phone in place. Couldn't be happier.

Bought this for my partner, I have this in two of my cars and it’s the best. The phone does not fall off or move. Easy on and off. Love that it’s small and unobtrusive.

the product is faulty, the "glue on the magnet supposed to be strong and stick on my phone but when i pilled off, try to put on the phone no glue at all, same things for try to stick on the case !!!! Does JB Hifi a refund for this faulty product bough in store the 23 November 2022 ? I am waiting to hear you ASAP. Thanks for your feedback.

My phone would hardly stay on the Mount, even without my case on. I would %100 not recommend this to anyone and if I could leave 0 stars I would. I’m not sure how they call themselves the “#1 Mount Brand”

This little mount is one of the best! It adheres to the surface really well and the magnet is very strong. I like the adjustability of it too, making it easier to place your phone at whatever angle you like.

Great little product. Phone stays where it is however the o ly downfall is that you lose the ability to cordless charge because of the fitting on the back of the phone.

Does exactly what it's supposed to, I only wish the magnet was a little stronger to work through my clear phone case instead of having to stick it on the outside.

Holds phone firmly. Easy to manipulate to the right angle and then tighten the mount to stay there.

Double sided tape fell off within 1 hour. Don't buy this.

I bought this for my work car as I use my phone as a GPS often. When I first tried the suction of the base, it didn’t stick to my windscreen and kept falling off. Instead I decided to use it on my dash and it stuck much better. I use the magnets on the outside of my phone so the attraction is strong. I initially used a pop socket with a magnet on it, but found the phone would just turn around in circles on country roads. I got rid of the pop socket and used the larger magnet on the back of my case and it works perfectly now.

Great product. Sticks to flat surface & is small so huge surrounding area in car isnt needed compared to other brands. Magnet works well plus comes wiith multiple magnets of various size. Can easily purchase individual pack of new magnets separately (for when i got a new phone)

Make sure you use the wipe to thoroughly clean the surface you’re placing it on. Also, if it’s on a curved area or edge, make sure you flex/bend the stand at the two fold points. I didn’t do either of these things and it didn’t stay stuck. Luckily, there is an extra sticking pad so I will be having another go.

Best phone mount I've used so far. Keeps iPhone 12 mini in place even without additional magnets. Prefer this to any other mount.

Love this product. No messy windscreen from suction cups, no silly arms to hold in place or release butrons to quickly remove. Just a super strong magnetic hold even over bumps it stays put!

For the cost of this item, the tape does not stick to your dashboard well enough. Mine fell after 4 days and I followed the instructions to a T. The magnet is barely strong enough to hold my normal size iPhone and had it fall under very light bumps.

It’s small and blends into the car dash. not to ugly, and it holds my iPhone 13 pro max.

So good would recommend to anyone easy to install can be fitted anywhere in your vehicle

can't hold any wait, twist arm just flops straight away, even with with tension on plastic thread.

Bought this case on the premise that it would have a good strong hold for my phone. Upon unboxing this mount and test fitting the magnetic plate between my low profile case and my phone, I found the magnet to be very low powered. A speed bump or a bump in the road would cause the phone to dislodge and fall. Placing the metallic plate on the bottom third of the phone as the instructions suggest provides a precarious fixing at best. In the middle of the phone is slightly better however still a subpar hold. It isn’t unreasonable to be able to expect this mount to hold the weight of an IPhone 12 Pro Max, not an uncommon phone or phone size. The fact that it can be so easily dislodged and provides such a poor hold is very disappointing.

The magnet pad that goes on your phone sticks for about a week then loosens off the back of your phone the magnetic part works great just the glue part that sticks to your phone definitely not worth the money unless sticky ness works better

I bought this for hubby to use in his excavator, which generally works good - unless it gets a bit to rough and tumble, which is to be expected. You have to put a magnet back of your phone casing for it to stick (of course) which I think interferes with wireless charging… it is what it is! Hubby thinks he can have the world, but maybe not lol
