Skullcandy Crusher 1080 ANC Sound by Bose Over-Ear Headphones (Black)

I usually never wright reviews but this is a must! I have been using the Skullcandy ANC 2's for nearly 2 years now, was my most favourite headphones cause of the crusher bass and I have started looking into getting the new Skullcandy 1080's, I didn't think there would be that big of a difference by what i have been told but they have been a complete game changer. Has way clearer audio thanks to Bose, the crusher bass feels way better, way more punchy, the bass doesn't just feel like it's vibrating the headphones like the ANC 2, you can feel it in your whole head almost like it has too much bass. Battery life is pretty insane too. I use it all the time everyday and rarely need to charge them, they are really comfortable because they are over ear headphones, so far I think the new Skullcandy 1080's are the best headphones I have ever had, always will stay with Skullcandy will only get better.

Was unsure about these. I don't really like audio devices that emphasise presets and a specific EQ'd sound, and I was expecting these to be that - oversaturated bass drowning out clarity. In reality, they are EQ'd but for a more general use. So it's not hard to get something more to your preference out of them. Using these with Poweramp media player on Android and one of the preinstalled Skullcandy Crusher EQs (no 1080 specific EQs as yet, of course), and straight up, I think this is the best headset I've owned. Sounds in all frequencies are clear, and the strong bass doesn't swamp other sounds. I can hear all ranges with clarity, and the bass feels very strong and distinct from other sounds. I generally have the bass knob set at mid and that's loads, but can crank it for extra oomph in games and movies, and they really do start to shake then. I also tried them on PC, listening to podcasts and also with games. They work straight out of the box in either Bluetooth mode or wired. No hassles at all. Though there's no app for them on Windows that I'm aware of. Just using EQ presets and no EQ on the PC, podcasts sound fine. Using only Sonic for spatial audio, games sound good. Very clear. Definite spatial sense. Not as good as my Sound BlasterX H6 for spatial, but the audio quality might be better. Pair them up with decent decoder and EQ software and I reckon I wouldn't need anything else. If you like, the app can also give you a short hearing test and adjust the sound profile accordingly. I think this works particularly well. I have trouble hearing cymbals, certain ranges within higher frequencies, but with this enabled I hear all that clearly. And the test is easy and quick. Mic seems to work well with reasonable sound, though I only made a basic test. The controls are quality, simple and convenient. The knob on left cup is solid, controls bass. Next to it is a cushy button/2-way toggle switch - press to change EQ presets, up for ANC, down for monitoring surroundings. Small button on right is power, and larger is a 4-way with press for multifunction media controls, volume, pairing, and changing spatial audio mode. All assigned distinctly. Can also customise a few press combinations with this button, but there's no assigned features to put there unless you wanna double up on something. Feedback sounds, I think I'd prefer if some could be changed. In particular, the human female recorded voice that speaks selected EQ, ANC and spatial sound settings, pairing/connection status, on/off. Though these don't get changed frequently and settings being spoken is useful. Small beeps when changing tracks I rarely can hear beneath music, and I'm fine with that as they're unnecessary. And a rimshot percussive sound indicating 1s/3s press-and-hold activation, and these I don't mind. But it's rather the hefty and not very brief audio dodge that I don't like in particular. But that's a very minor complaint. Isolation works well. As another review points out, a little high frequency can be heard, but overall very good. Monitoring also works well enough to be aware of things happening around you. Spatial settings are also very nice. Does give great spatial sense, and also places the sound somewhat in front of you. A second mode keeps the sound anchored to that point in space in front of you when you activate it, panning it towards left or right when you turn your head. Either are good particularly for watching movies. I personally prefer music without spatial, but even that sounds pretty good. The fit is great, clamping snugly and not feeling tight. Feels comfortable on the crown, also, even after long periods, where other headphones I've had tend to become uncomfortable specifically where they rest on the crown with extended use. The detent/ratcheting of the band when extending is firm and feels like it'll last for ages. No wobble at all. The band itself is good quality metal. Pretty much top notch construction overall. The hinge on which the cups rotate might be the one weak point, though they do feel strong enough, and they pivot well and have a slight bit of friction that helps keep them open. The cups are a very, very soft-touch synthetic material. Perhaps too delicate. Feel very comfortable and even luxurious, but might warrant extra attention to avoid deterioration, and I'll be checking where I can get replacements just in case. Haven't confirmed battery life as yet, but they charge very quickly on the right kind of charger/USB. They can also detect when they're being worn and will pause playback when removed if this is enabled in the app, helping to prolong battery life. I did have a little trouble setting pairing them with my tablet at first. Managed to pair with my phone, and with the app was able to update firmware. Still had trouble pairing with my tablet, but after a few more attempts, and ensuring they were not connected to other devices, they paired up fine. Been using crusher evos for gym and Senheiser momentum 4 for enjoying quality music (used to have Sony xm5), and decided to get these for gym. Now ditched both for these; the Bose tuning, mics, Spatial Audio are legit game changer, and same with bass performance - just unmatched. Insane value, one of a kind headphones. ANC legit but higher frequencies creep in; maybe in line with Sony xm4 generation. Gym goers need these
