Smeg 50's Style 1.7L Kettle (Pastel Blue)

like other reviews, once it's out of warranty develops a water leak coming out of the electrical switch

This blue kettle is part of my colllection from my children. The colour has turned into a tealish faded mess. The seal doesn’t seal, thus burning my hand every pour. NOT HAPPY. So disappointing.

Great for a bit. Enamel coating chips and bubbles off. Hinge on the lid broke. Purchased 2 (matched our toaster and coffee machine). Very dissapointed.

Just over a year old and the lid no longer closes. In order for the kettle to boil, you now have to hold the lid closed!

The SMEG branding on the outside is not heat resistant, you will burn yourself if you touch it!!!

This product fell apart as soon as it was out of warranty. Worse, most expensive kettle ever!

Nice design but very poor quality. An ugly substance started appearing around the water line display. My mother bought the same model kettle around the time I bought mine, and her's is doing the same also. The enamel coating also started to blister once it was out of warranty.

I have the kettle, coffee machine, toaster and mixer and love them all but have been very disappointed to find that my kettle has started to leak around the base of the water level guide. I am so disappointed as the cost of the kettle means that I am probably not going to replace it with the same make and model.

We have slowly been adding matching Smeg appliances, and while we love the look, please be careful with selection. We bought all the same colour and unfortunately, the colour on our kettle is completely different to the other appliances. Very disappointed. The product itself works well.

Three months out of warranty: the lid breaks off and the sight glass leaks. Too dangerous to use. Save your money and don’t buy these.

I bought my kettle almost two years ago, still working but I’ve got problem with the body colour as you see in the photo which I’ve attached. Very disappointing, high price for poor quality.

We bought a SMEG kettle in 2017 as we liked the retro style and colour. however after having the kettle for 6 months the outside colour had discoloured badly and after a year or so the outside coating bubbled as per picture. Jug worked fine but looked terrible. Recently replaced it but did not consider another SMEG as we were so disappointed with the fading and bubbling of the coating which was the reason we bought it in the first place.

Beautiful looking kettle but the letters fell off in the first couple of months and the top no longer opens and I need to fill the kettle via the spout. If these 2 things were fixed in later models I’d purchase again. I have the toaster in matching design and works and looks great - no issues there

Beautiful Kettle but really heavy and loud! For the price very disappointed at the above flaws compared to my old Morphy Richards kettle.

I have had my Smeg kettle for 7 months now and it’s just the kettle for my kitchen. So effective and quiet! But most of all just so stunning in my new kitchen!
