Sound great but constantly not working with tv. Have had this for about 2 years now. At the start it seemed everyone knew about Sonos app having issues so the beam would constantly not play the sound coming from the tv. Then it got fixed for about 1 year and then today the same issue has come back. It’s know by Sonos owners that these have a lot of issues. When they work they’re great but honestly because I have Samsung the frame tv if I could go back I’d probably just buy a Samsung tv speaker as it would probably work every time I turn the tv on. And the Samsung one would be cheaper.
Probably the most disappointing $600 I’ve ever spent. I bought this sound bar almost exactly a year ago and I’ve had constant issues. Maybe every 5th or 6th time I’d turn on my TV the sound bar wouldn’t work, despite the TV’s audio output being the sound bar. I would have to switch the TV off at the wall for 30 seconds for it to work. Now a year later, I’m having to do this pretty much every time I use my TV. Very annoying given how expensive this is.
Would really like a little more options in the Equalizer department would make it 5 star. Love the Move and my new setup cheers
As a 70 year old couple we found the sound from our TV was awful! Very hard to hear conversations in movies and Tv shows , the music on ads was deafening and it was very echoey! We heard that this Sonos bar was the best for the price range we could afford. We couldn't be happier with the result! No more adjusting the volume, voices are so clear and it looks fabulous! It was so easy to install too! Highly recommend!
I won't like - the Beam that I purchased is a "tide-me-over" until I can afford an Arc. At least... that was the plan, but man, once it arrived, I was so impressed! Amazing sound, dialogue is clear, music sounds great, it is truly a phenomenal product for the price. It doesn't get much better in terms of value. 10/10 for the price. Of course, the Arc is a better soundbar, but it is also double the price (almost). Worth it, I think, but if you're after either a) a good value, "budget" option, or b) a great soundbar for a small-ish space... look no further. Don't bother with the Ray, honestly - it is far better to save the few hundred extra to buy the Beam. Whether you can afford the Arc, or want to save for it... that's up to you. But the overall point is this - I'm blown away by the Beam. Movies sound great, music is awesome, given the room is fairly small the "virtual" 3D sound does work pretty well (despite not having upwards firing drivers like the Arc). Friends and family all comment on how great it sounds - I'm running it with 2x Era 100s as rear speakers and with a Sub Mini (I really would 100% recommend you invest in those as well - the Beam on its own is great, but it only becomes exceptional when paired with those products, and the Sub Mini you can use even if you decide to upgrade to the Arc +/- Era 300s as rear surrounds). Trust me, you'll love it! The reviews speak for themselves. In terms of the latest app... yes, I had some issues setting up the system, but I got it working in the end, and it wasn't too tricky to figure out. With each update Sonos is fixing each issue, so from now on... smooth sailing, I think. Go for it! NOW!
After listening to good quality music and television sound on previous brands there is no comparison between that and Sonos it has taken me some time to get to this listening pleasure there will be no more going back.
The set up was extremely frustrating as it was impossible to do on app, the app didn't work on my android for set up, tried multiple phone. Ended up setting up via my Microsoft laptop, after firmware update to sound bar and set up then the app on phone started recognizing new system It's a very poor app considering such a good and expensive product. Shame . Also , no Bluetooth to other devices, why? Everything cheap devices has Bluetooth now ..couldn't implement this for Sonos sound bar, big downer. I didn't realize before purchase, assumed it would have it...
No Blutooth. You’d assume on a state of the art soundbar with a premium price tag it would have blutooth… but no. To get Blutooth capabilities you have to fork out another $300 for the Roam portable speaker and then pair it with the beam. Sounds good though
Stay away from them if you avoid it. The thing they wont tell you but the bar can only run a sub and 2 x speakers. They dont mesh properly with all smart TV's and I have had nothing but trouble getting the TV remote working properly. The Sonos support couldnt fix the problem at all, it wasnt until I called Samsung when I finally resolved it. Buy a blue tooth system is my advice.
Sound quality is great, especially after customising to the room. It was difficult to setup, given my network configuration. Once I understood what was happening it was easy to connect. But it did take many hours unfortunately. Perhaps documenting these challenges connecting to some networks would make things easier.
Great for music and TV, and when working in my office
So happy with my Sonos beam purchase. Worth every cent.
I like to hear music around the house and sonos speakers is the best option and always want to get more sonos products. The sounds quality is the best. I'm happy with the purchased
Big issue was that it wasnt advertised that you need 2.4ghz wifi band. Why is it not 5g compatible? I use a Netgear 5g cellular/portable modem - luckily its dual band and could connect the TV and speaker to 2.4gh channel or i would have taken this back (for the second time, the first time it wasnt clear you needed wifi to use it, should be plug and play with optical cord)
We had a Bose previously and my husband was always complaining that he can't understand what they saying. This is perfect.
great sound improvment over tv but because the part no not recognized buy samsung cannot connect to tv remote.
Took me a while to set up as the mobile I was using wasn't capable, used a more updated mobile and connected straight away
I upgraded from the Sonos Playbase, and this little piece of work is amazing for the size. Sound quality is superb, and easily expandable with subs, etc down the track. Setup was a little bit troublesome, but it was more to do with the wifi than the unit itself.
We got this to replace the old Sonos sound bar as we had trouble setting up our new Bravia tv. Add in a sub and a couple of small sonos and you have amazing sound with the tv
We just wanted better TV and streamed sound and we got that and very easy to operate.
Very happy with the little speaker, was easy enough to setup, the sound is surprisingly good and the sound stage is quite impressive. I have a Hi-Fi system at home which I listen to hi-res music on and this sound bar while maybe not on the same level, is very close. I'm very happy with the speaker and can't wait to get some more to make multi room speaker/music a reality!
We had a Polk system in our family room for years with a subwoofer. The sound was never impactful and clear. Muffled and difficult to get balanced. The bass that comes from the Beam 2 without a sub is superior to that of the Polk with a sub. The audio is vastly better. The voices clearer, the music more velvety and musical.
* Super-easy to set up, even for me (I am not technically confident). * Has fattened up the sound from my Samsung Smart TV, giving it resonance and richness. * Loving the immersive quality of the sound which is excellent quality. * Very good support from Sonos, with emailed tips and information via the App. Incredibly helpful.
Easy to setup and truly enhances our Samsung S95C. A dynamic and rich sound experience emanating from a relatively small product.
Unusable in my situation. It stupidly doesn't accept Bluetooth. Why?
Wanted an unobtrusive sound bar to add to my Frame TV. Fills the room with quality sound andhandles Dolby Atmos. Works well with my other Sonos speakers.
Great room-filling sound. The soundbar was really easy to set up and looks fantastic in our living room. AirPlay 2 support is fantastic and the ability to synchronise the soundbar with your room is great.
Great speaker it definitely improved the sound on our TV
Connected via eArc to TV for movies and music mainly. Difficult to setup as suffers from frequent audio drop outs. Have tried all advice from your support agents without success.
Use on my tv and for streaming music from my phone. Setup could not have been easier. Switching from tv to phone to tv is seamless. Best user design and experience I've ever encountered with tech.
