Sony WH-1000XM6 Premium Noise Cancelling Over-Ear Headphones (Sand Pink)

I am extremely disappointed with both the reliability of the Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones and the level of after-sales support I received from both Sony and JB Hi-Fi. After just seven months of light use, the headphones developed a fault and stopped working properly. These are premium-priced headphones, so I expected them to provide years of reliable service, not fail within months. The headphones have always been well cared for and have never been exposed to water or excessive moisture. I returned them under warranty through JB Hi-Fi, expecting the issue to be investigated fairly and resolved. Instead, Sony determined that the headphones had "water damage" and refused to repair or replace them under warranty. This diagnosis was completely inconsistent with how the headphones had been used, as they have never been near water. What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of support from JB Hi-Fi. Rather than advocating for their customer or questioning a diagnosis that I strongly dispute, they simply accepted Sony's assessment and offered no meaningful assistance in resolving the issue. As the retailer, I expected them to do more than simply pass on the manufacturer's decision. The sound quality and noise cancellation were excellent while the headphones worked, but those strengths are completely overshadowed by their poor reliability and the disappointing warranty experience. When you spend a premium price on a product, you expect not only quality but also confidence that the manufacturer and retailer will stand behind it if something goes wrong. Instead, after only seven months of light use, I was left with an expensive pair of unusable headphones and a warranty claim denied for a reason I strongly believe does not reflect how the product was actually used. The lack of accountability from both Sony and JB Hi-Fi has left me feeling frustrated and extremely disappointed. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend either the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones or the after-sales support provided by Sony and JB Hi-Fi. A premium product should be backed by premium customer service, and unfortunately, that was not my experience.

Upgraded from the WH-1000XM4 and it was the right move! Noise-cancelling is so much better and the new design is great and so comfy.

I got these specifically for gym purposes, these are nice however they fall off when I’m working out the slightest tilt of my head they will fall and slip off.

Bought these to replace an older pair. The build quality has noticeably dropped between models. Sony has very much fallen behind in the market. Sound is tinny, and nowhere near as bassy as competitor headsets. Save your money and avoid Sony in general.

It's nice when a products description or hype, lives up to expectations. Great fit. I usually struggle with a big noggin and ears but these are snug, ANC is a treat (using for neurodivergent reasons) but most importantly they sound mint!

I purchased the Sony WH-1000XM6 over-ear headphones and haven't taken them off my ears! I use them to listen to music, TV and online conferences. The sound is very clear and of great quality, with extremely fast connection to my various devices and they are quite comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. Overall, a brilliant purchase.

Poorly designed - ear piece broke after 4 months. Sony said no to warranty. Will never buy Sony again.

Headphone cracked twice. For a 600 dollar headpone quality is subpar

Definitely my go to for the gym and travel and everyday. i use the ANC pretty much everyday and it works so well you can be locked into your gym sessions, they can do well when travelling and in public places but the transparency is good too but sony has a feature where you hold one of the earcups and it pauses your music while you hold that earcup then unpauses when it you take it off. The only con i would say is the earcups aren't that deep so if you have bigger ears or are sensitive ears these might not be for you. These headphones are a must especially if they're on sale !

Purchased about a month ago and really deliberated on the purchase due to cost, but I'm so happy I bought them!! They are super comfortable to wear long term (I wear them as ear protection at work as well as using them for music). I especially love the adaptive noise cancelling feature and was blown away by the amplification feature

I recently bought the Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones and have been really impressed. The sound quality is excellent with clear audio and great bass, and the noise cancelling works incredibly well. It blocks out almost all background noise. They’re also very comfortable to wear for long periods and the battery life has been great so far. Overall, they feel like a premium pair of headphones and I’d definitely recommend them.

HINGES BREAK REALLY EASILY AND SONY REFUSES TO COVER THEM IN WARRANTY, BUYER BEWARE! The second these flimsy hinges snap, that's IT for the headphones, no noise cancelling, NOTHING- cheap design made so that you spend more money on new pairs every year. Sickening.

Best headphones that you can get - great for noise cancelling and sound. Some audiophiles may disagree but for the other 99% of us - it’s amazing - you won’t regret it

They sound amazing, great battery life and one of the best pairs of noise cancelling headphones. Software isn't great they like to randomly cut in and out and sometimes get stuck in transparency mode. For durability still could be improved I've personally already broken a headband so if you get a pair be gentle when adjusting the headband, as for the genuine headband replacement the swivels are starting to get loose but not lasting damage so far and are stupid easy to source parts and replace them. Calls aren't great most of the time the other person cant hear clearly unless you shout which isn't practical in a public setting. If you plan on getting these for the gym or commutes they're amazing for that purpose but be gentle.

Disconnected sometimes automatically, hanging out suddenly, stopping music suddenly. It's not worth to pay the cost for this. I will get Bose one.

As a Sony fanboy for 20 years plus, I couldn't wait to drop half my wage on these bad boys. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. From the design, (the stupid swivelly headband) to CONSTANT connectivity issues (I can't have my Galaxy watch connected to my phone at the same time) to the abysmal Noise Cancelling on planes.... even the sound profile was disappointing, and I even tried them with PowerAmp. Save your money, get something else. A set of V-Modas will leave these in the dust.

Hyped up functionality and actually quite terrible. Persistently disconnects from phone which means taking calls without headphones. Connects to phone but speaker cannot hear you at all and hangs up. Decides to drop out and in noise cancelling when walking and emphasises surrounding so you jump out of your skin thinking your about to get run over when approaching traffic is over 400m away. Call centre support terrible. Yes - app setting - turn off noise cancelling for everything and it will still intermittently turn it on ignoring setting. Got grey. Look dirty and old and I've had less 4 weeks.

I bought this with the hope that it is the ultimate product. I can say that XM4 is far superior than this in terms of versatility and noise cancelling. I have tested both while travelling and XM4 beats this hands down.

If you want to listen on the go & don't care about sound quality, this will work. In terms of sound quality, it's the worst in the price range & just continues Sonys poor run on XM sound build. Not sure who is tuning these but whoever at Sony thought this was a good sound, needs to be fired. The EQ app does little to fix it as its ranges are limited. Ears get warmer a lot faster than previous gens, which is good if you're walking in the cold but can't keep these on for too long else ears get uncomfortable. ANC is superior compared to XM5.

used predominantly for when i’m on my PC and when i’m at the gym. Noise cancelling is beautiful, can block out a busy household or gym environment. sound quality is good and precise. can be used for gaming but would still recommend a gaming headset over these. Battery life is amazing, i barely charge it when on the PC. Good over-ear fit, nice clamping force. feels snug on the head but isn’t uncomfortable to wear for long periods. Connect and switch between two devices. can watch youtube on PC then open tiktok on phone and the audio switches over, and can fully disable this feature as well. Sound connect app works well for controlling everything xm6 offers

I had the XM4's for 5 years and only this morning picked these up. I activated the noise cancelling and my mouth opened so wide I could catch flies, I was so impressed. I walked past a group of kids chatting, heard not a thing. Had to take the headphones off to make sure they were indeed talking. I don't leave reviews, but this is some mystical stuff. I don't know how good they will be long term, but the XM4's lasted me years, so I am assuming the same for these.

Compared with the previous generation, this generation makes me more satisfied

I have previously owned both the Mx4 and the Mx5 and I can honestly say that these blow the previous models out of the stratosphere. The only thing that doesn't work is the head tracking feature on samsung, but even without that there amazing. Highly recommend
