As a massive Splatoon fan, this game is perfect. As a salmon run fan, it's good that you can play alone or with others (which was a massive problem in 3 as my teammates were not the greatest). The controls felt as great as ever, and I don't think the gameplay dipped under 60fps for the entire time I was playing. The matchmaking is good, but you often find yourself with level 50 player when calling for help, which isn't bad, but I would like to actually help a lower-level player. The controls are very responsive especially with the switch 2 joy cons. the game is very replayable, and features an endless mode. The gadget and weapon system is very well crafted and gets better post-game. The visuals are ok, but you're not playing Splatoon for pure graphics, even if this game is supposed to be 4k. Overall this is a very polished experience, definitely a must buy switch 2 game so far! (yes, you can get the OG shaggy haircut from the start once you beat the final boss).
Possibly my new favourite entry in the Splatoon series. Incredibly satisfying and addictive gameplay loop with fights that made my heart thump and my legs shake. Played it all on ‘Survivor’ difficulty which kept things very challenging but the game is fair and you are free to grind and repeat levels as much as you need to level up your gear which then feels like an extremely satisfying revenge on those bosses that had you dying countless times an hour ago. Also a great standalone entry if wanted. You can ignore all of the lore and bonus story-rich artefacts and just go on raids! The game is based off the ‘Salmon Run’ side mode that originated in Splatoon 2, I think? And man, it’s so much better as it’s own game it’s stupidly fun.
Absolutely incredible, great first game for newcomers and great game for long term fans. The first hour of the game doesn’t get boring and it perfectly teaches all audiences how the game works and plays. The difficulty of the game is perfectly crafted to work perfectly for both newcomers and also the most hardcore players whom are very well accustomed to the “salmon run” playstyle. The game is very packed with plenty of content, you will never get bored. Whether you’re tinkering with your gadgets and/or reading through all the collectible scrolls, or you’re out Raiding dungeons for sweet loot, you never run out of ways to play. This game is the first in the series to put a large focus on the single player playstyle. It works perfectly alone, but surprisingly incredible with friends. No matter the level difference between players and each of their chosen game difficulties, the game flawlessly adjusts itself for the wanted gameplay experience for both players! The game is a must have for all casual switch 2 lovers, for all families, and for ALL gamers alike!
This game is just like Magikarp all it does is flop
Im not a big splatoon fan, but this game got me hooked on the series. I hope Nintendo makes another like it and further expands on it, amazing game with alot of experiments for your character via weapons, gadgets, perks etc. Gameplay and controls feels fluent and smooth, lots of enemy variety that can be difficult to handle in big numbers if not using your gadgets strategicly and weapons and gadgets all feel very unqiue that you can customise to your playstyle, alot of fun can be had just from trying out all the different aspects of them. the only downside i can really think of is the lack of cosmetic options, specifically for male gamers that want a more male looking character. Highly recommend this game.

Grabbed my pre-order from JB yesterday and rushed home to play. Super fun! I was skeptical how a single player Splatoon spin off would go, but the gameplay is super addictive 😅 Plus, it's a little cheaper here compared to another gaming store that starts with an E and ends with a B... (cough cough). Please buy a physical copy of this game so Nintendo can let the gaming industry know that we want physical games to stay!
I LOVE SPLATOON RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
