Easy to use

I have been involved with training other baristas and have used professional machines as well as home ones. This machine off the bat was easy to calibrate. It dispenses 20g of grind in the two cup configuration, the pour off a naked filter is beautiful and I could change the amount of water being dispensed by 5ml increments and I have got it exactly like I like it. The steam wand is powerful enough 15bar to get a quality foam. Highly recommend for a home machine beginner or an advanced user for the price you pay.

Excellent Quality Coffee

The Sunbeam Origins Classic EMM5500 has been a pleasant surprise. The coffee quality is very good, with a smooth, well-rounded flavour, and it’s been consistently reliable from cup to cup. The temperature is just right - hot enough to enjoy immediately without being harsh or burnt. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, and fits nicely into a simple morning routine. A solid choice for anyone who wants good, dependable coffee at home.

So easy to use!

I have had this machine for just under 2 weeks and am in love with it. It took us a couple tries to dial in the coffee but I loved the accessibility to the QR code with user friendly videos on how to use the product which made mastering getting a good cuppa in the mornings so easy! The milk frother also made it so easy to make a perfect latte with velvety milk!

Great tasting coffee and easy to use!

Love this! The origins classic espresso machine is so easy to use, not too many buttons or settings to set up, it’s all automatic and ready for the first use. The in-built coffee machine is a great feature, making fresh coffee from home. Overall, I recommend this for people looking to make great tasting coffee from home, and an easy clean up at the end.

Happy caffeinated customer

I’m honestly so impressed with the Sunbeam Origins Classic. It’s easy to use, makes a great coffee, and the milk frother works better than I expected. The grinder is neat, not messy, and the whole thing feels really straightforward — perfect for busy mornings. The coffee tastes consistent every time, and it’s a nice upgrade without being overly complicated or expensive. If you’re wanting a simple, reliable machine that still makes a really good cup, this one is a great choice.

My coffee journey

So TLDR; if you want to drink GOOD quality coffee every morning without breaking the bank, this is a no brainer. It’s a professional espresso machine made easy for people like you and me. Now let me tell you a story. A story of a man who, over the years, used to spend $60+/week on just takeaway coffees. One day, this man decided to make a bold change in his life. He got himself one of those pod coffee machines. He saved some money, sure, but the taste was horrible. He wanted more, so he started getting deep into the world of coffee beans and all the different flavours that exist from all over the globe. Then he found out the cost of getting all of these tools to make coffee cost as much as his laptop. Ridiculous. So he settled with a simple pour-over set. It’s simple and affordable. At least he could now start tasting and experimenting with different flavours, he said. For a while, he was content. But he knew that his world was still so small because he could only have his coffee one way. Until one fateful day, he entered the kitchen in his workplace and noticed a brand-new espresso machine. His first thought was, “Wow, we must’ve spent a fortune to get this machine,” but he was excited to try it. He pulled out a cup from the cupboard, set the grinder to level 10 for a medium-slow extraction, put the handle into the grinder slot, and pushed down once to get a perfect one cup of 13g smooth ground coffee beans. Clean, no spill, great start. He then used the tamper to press and flatten the grounded coffee in the cup. Then, as he was flicking through the manual, he found out about using hot water through the steam wand to warm up the cup. He couldn’t believe it, so he tried it, and of course, it worked, and now he was ready to pour his first cup of espresso using this little machine. He put the handle into the head, locked it in, and without hesitation pressed the button with the little coffee cup icon to start brewing his first cup of coffee of the day. The extraction took about 20 seconds. Then the smell kicked in, that beautiful smell of a warm morning hug, a delicious cup of perfect espresso. His mind wandered. Should I make a latte? Hmm… maybe another time, he said. He then had his first sip, and it was… a GOOD cup of coffee. Filled with happiness, knowing he could drink good coffee at work, he wondered… what about when I’m working from home? So he took a deep breath and looked it up online. He smiled. By lunchtime, he had put in the order to get one for his home. “It’s an early Christmas present for me,” he whispered in his head. Now he was ready to experience more, to taste more, to live……more. Finally, he could experiment with the playful flavours of different coffee beans in the comfort of his own home. And thus, his (coffee) journey begins.

Morning cup made simple

I have been using this machine for a while now and couldn't be more impressed. It's been an upgrade from a smaller machine I had for a few years, and having the grinder and milk frother all in one place has been a life changer. The one button cleaning has also been such a handy feature!

New to making your own coffee? This was so easy!

Full disclosure: I was gifted this machine with the intent that I needed to save money as I grab coffee on the go all the time so getting an at home coffee machine was a good solution for my bank balance. This machine was so easy to use and the instructions were easy to follow. Got to be honest, I was pretty chuffed at my first coffee. Definitely find yourself a good quality bean because this coffee machine will do the work in that it’s so easy to use & will give you a great coffee - it’s pretty much foolproof & don’t worry, you don’t have to be an expert to use this machine (but I reckon you’ll become one before too long!) The other thing I would say is, it looks great on the bench as it matches my black kettle & microwave. Super stylish.

Great quality and easy to use!

I’m a daily coffee drinker who easily goes through 2-3 cups during a workday. When I’m in the office, it’s no problem since we have a coffee machine there. But when I’m working from home, running out for coffee just takes too much time, and pod coffee or instant coffee doesn't satisfy the same craving. I've recently had the opportunity to test out the Sunbeam Origins Classic, and I'm super impressed the quality and ease of use. Not only does it look great, but the auto-dosing grinder and simple controls make it a dream to use. I pretty much exclusively drink black coffee, and with the Sunbeam Origins Classic, its as easy as tapping twice for the auto-dosed grind, tapping the double-shot button and then adding water. I've also noticed that the heat up time is incredibly quick - by the time the beans are grinded and tamped, the shot is ready to be pulled.

Love this Machine!

As someone who drinks multiple coffees per day, and living in an area saturated with amazing cafes, I can be quite fussy about the taste and quality of my daily coffee! Recently, I was fortunate enough to be able to try a brand new coffee machine - the New Sunbeam Origins Classic Espresso Machine - and I have loved every second of it! This machine was an upgrade from our old, smaller coffee machine, and I have really enjoyed every aspect of this new machine so far. A few things I love about this coffee machine: 1) The design is very modern, and looks really nice compared to my old smaller stainless-steel machine. It is easy to clean, and the gloss black doesn’t look or feel cheap. 2) The in-built conical burr coffee grinder is really easy to adjust, and grinds coffee beans evenly. The ‘Tap & Go’ auto dosing works well, and accurately doses each time (I have weighed the ground coffee multiple times, with all doses being consistent). 3) The large group-head pours a very even shot across two cups, and the used coffee grinds are very easy to knock out. 4) Heat up time is relatively short - I’ve found it is ready in less than a minute, which is just enough time to grab the coffee cups and grind the coffee. 5) The steam volume is perfect, and gradually heats the milk so you can spend time perfecting the texturing for perfect froth. 6) The machine is easy to use for beginners, allowing anyone to make a solid cup of coffee - but it is also perfect for those looking to experiment or build their skills further. The instruction manual was really helpful, with lots of extra tips and tricks to take your coffee skills further. The only thing I would improve is the coffee tamp, which is plastic and feels a bit light weight - however, this is very minor, and doesn’t impact the quality of the coffees I’ve made. Overall, I have loved my experience with this machine so far, and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality home coffee machine. In the past week, I’ve already recommended by parents grab the same machine! It is flexible enough that beginners will make a great coffee, while also catering to people looking to experiment or extend their skills with different beans & grinds. Definitely consider this great coffee machine!

Upgrading my coffee game!

I’ve been using a smaller espresso machine for a while now, making 1-2 coffees a day, but I finally decided to step it up with the Sunbeam Origins Classic—and I have to say, this thing makes life so much easier. The tap and go grinder has an auto dose feature, grinding the perfect amount every time, so I'm getting much more consistent pours and flavours. Plus, the anti-static tech actually works—no more coffee grounds all over the bench, which is a huge win! The preset single and double shot options make pulling a perfect espresso ridiculously easy, but I love that I can also go manual if I feel like tweaking things. I personally drink black coffee, so can usually taste pretty quickly if somethings too bitter or weak – but so far every cups come out deeply rich and full of flavour. If you're a flat white drinker, I've tried the steam wand when having guests over, it's easy to use and gets super silky milk too. Also, I really love the effortless clean and descale button. No fuss, no deep cleaning sessions. If you’re looking to upgrade to cafe quality at home and keep honing your barista skills I'd definitely consider the Sunbeam Origins Classic!

Creamy, Smooth, and Easy!!

I’ve been wanting a proper coffee experience at home, and Sunbeam Origins Classic Espresso has been perfect for that! I’ve used a manual espresso machine before at work, but this one makes things so much easier while still letting me play around and improve my barista skills. The built-in grinder is a game-changer, it gives me the exact amount of coffee I need, no mess, no guessing. I can choose between one or two shots or go fully manual if I feel like experimenting. The milk frother took me a couple of tries, but now my lattes are so creamy and smooth just like a café! Cleaning is super easy with the one-button system, which means I actually keep up with it (because who wants to deal with a high-maintenance machine?). It also looks sleek, compact and goes well in my kitchen aesthetic, which is a nice bonus. Honestly, I love this machine. It’s easy, fun, and makes a great cup every morning at my convenience!

Easy to use

I’ve been using the Sunbeam Origins Classic Espresso Machine (EMM5500BK) for a little while now, and it’s quickly become a game-changer in my morning routine! The sleek black design looks great on my kitchen bench, and it’s surprisingly easy to use. I love how smooth and creamy the milk turns out—fresh milk definitely works best. It does take a bit of practice to get the grind and tamp just right, but once you do, it consistently delivers a great cup of coffee. One feature I really appreciate is the cleaning alert button—it flashes to remind you when it’s time to run a cleaning cycle, which makes maintenance super easy. If you're after a solid home espresso machine that won’t break the bank, this one’s a winner!

Simple features and stylish

I think the Origins Classic is a simple yet stylish coffee machine. I made the jump from pod coffee as I do enjoy real coffee extraction and frothing my milk. This machine has such a nice colour and square design to it, and is very compact with a smaller drip tray and water basket (which is 1.8L). It also has a built-in grinder which saves space for me, and the grinder does auto doses so it is very easy to get the coffee amount right. A nice to have is the commercial size group head as it apparently gives maximum coffee flavour which I didn't see other machines for the same price have. I do find the machine a little light-weight and I tend to have to hold it as I insert the group handle. Surprisingly, there isn't much mess when grinding beans. It could be the shape and it also has anti-static grinder technology. I did watch the product video which was helpful since the grinder settings can be tricky to get. The reflective back is plastic so it is not as premium as other machines, but it is very easy to clean with a wet wipe and paper towel and back to brand new! It really is one of the nicest designs on the market for the price point, almost retro style with the dials but very modern and quiet, without confusing buttons like on other machines. There is a cleaning button too which flashes which is good for maintenance. I am happy with the performance and it is user-friendly for me and my morning coffees.

Easy automatic setup, perfect milk foam

As a coffee lover, I am in love with the machine! Honestly, no coffee shop can beat the coffee we make at home :D It comes with everything you need to start using it, so as soon as we got it at home we could use it straight away. The grinder automatically gives you the exact amount of coffee that you need, and you can just choose if you want one or two shots of coffee accordingly. The machine makes the most smooth milk foam, my coffee is soooo creamy! Seriously, I just love it. I also love the design, black and discreet. Tips I've learned in the first couple of days: 1. I didn't read the instructions to set it up as it's quite simple, so I got a bit lost to understand how to use the grinder: all you have to do is to fit in the handle/portafilter under the grinder and push it down once or twice (depending on if you will do one or two shorts of coffee). 2. The guide says to setup the grinder at number 15 - and it worked perfectly! 3. Allow a few seconds for the steam wand to heat up before using it. Perfect Cappuccino: one push for a shot and the ''one mug'' button is the perfect amount for my coffee. I first do my milk, and then I do the shot. Perfect Long Black: we first put the hot water in the mug from the machine (that also stops automatically for the right quantity), and then two pushes for two shots and the ''two mugs'' button to put the coffee on top of the hot water - perfect LB! Think we will stick with the machine for a long time :) We love it!
