Tefal Easy Rice & Slow Cooker

Extremely disappointing experience with this rice cooker. I carefully followed the internal measurement lines and instructions, yet the cooker repeatedly produced rice that was stuck together in a large clump while still remaining undercooked and crunchy inside. The most frustrating part is that the cooker appeared to complete the cycle normally despite the rice clearly not being fully cooked. This occurred across three separate attempts, even while adjusting measurements and methods. For an appliance designed specifically to simplify rice cooking, I expected far more consistency, reliability and cooking accuracy than this.

This rice cooker takes longer than doing it on the stovetop. 50 mins to cook 2 cups of rice is ridiculous, instructions a poor.

Affordable, not heavy to hold, it does bubble on top and nowhere for the excess water to go, requires rice sitting

Great look, light to hold, fluffy rice. However, don’t leave unattended as the water will flow out of the filter and it goes everywhere there is zero catchment of excess water. And I have used less water this time around.

I bought the rice cooker 2 months ago. However, the brochure contains no useful info. It exemplifies white rice but doesn’t give times for brown rice, oats etc. There are NO recommended recipes. Not sure where to go from here.

I love this life saving rice cooker! Most delicious brown rice now my kids can make their own sushi at home it’s so easy to use. Perfect and consistent brown rice every time. So reliable and user friendly.

Rice comes out perfect every time and I have made a couple of stews on slow cook mode and they have come out perfect as well. Really happy with this multi use product!

Used once - never again. I am an experienced cook and prepare nearly all our meals. Took far too long to cook rice. 43 minutes then accompanying food was overcooked. Was very unimpressed with the rice - ate some then threw the rest away. Cooker now sitting in the cupboard. Will throw out next council clean up day.

What is the slow cooking setting? Use the "stew" setting which offers 60 minutes of cooking time, and the contents will be burned to a crisp. I've looked high and low for an answer to this question, and TEFAL avoiuds it!

Bought this as a house-warming gift. I own one myself and use it all the time. Good quality, good price and easy to use. The quality of the inner bowl is excellent. I've had several other brands where the coating of the inner bowl peels off after a while. but this one is still going as it's thick and strong. I have been careful not to scratch it though. Highly recommended for the price

It has a number of functions and serves my basic needs. Great value. I hope the lid could be taken off for cleaning.

The single most irritating appliance I've ever touched. I've spent hours trying to google how to cook brown rice in it and there is no instructions anywhere. There are markings on the bowl but no advice as to what these markings mean. Is it the water? How many cups? Really hate that I purchased such a POC

I am loving this cooker. Rice is perfect, fluffy and takes about the same to as stove top but without the mess. The slow cooker side of things is just as great. It's set and forget basically. I love the non stick pot but I would live a second pot. I've cooked Mongolian beef and others but, having the extra bowl available would make life easier. I could pop the casserole in the oven and then cook the rice.

Not only a slow cooker but a rice cooker as well I trust the leave this it home while I'm not there once I get home from work the food cooked in ready to go it's so easy to use and safe.

We upgraded from a basic rice cook to this machine, giving us the option of cooking different types of rice, brown / white at the touch of a button. The key to using a rice cooker like this is to make sure that you rinse the rice well (until the water runs clear) prior to cooking. If you don't you risk a hard crust at the bottom of the rice. I use the 1:2 rice water ratio and always get fluffy rice. Have also cooked rice with coconut milk - yum

What a joke, 40 min to cook some rice. Way too slow. The rest of my meal is ready whilst I stand around waiting for the rice to finish.

This rice cooker makes beautifully fluffy rice but it does take a rather long time (I put it on at the very start of making dinner as it takes 40+minutes). The slow cooker options are just okay.

I bought this as a replacement for an aging rice cooker. Sadly I shouldn't have wasted my money. The rice cooking takes too long and the rice is no better than if I had done it on the stovetop. My real gripe though is with the other functions. You can steam but there are no instructions on how to do so. You can slow cook but there are no recipes to guide on quantities of liquid. The Tefal website is of little use as it only shows five recipes. Very very disappointed.

Tefal's rice cooker makes rice cooking a easy. This multi-functional cooker does an excellent job. This is the rice cooker to get if you only need a basic rice cooker; however, if you require more, I would recommend looking for something else in the same price range. Cooking time is much longer than on a stove, and it is not a time saver.

I am happy with purchase however my instruction booklet only had instructions for white rice. I would really appreciate instructions for brown, jasmine and sushi rice please.

I bought this rice and slow cooker one month ago. Having used rice cookers and slow cookers in the past, I was looking forward to having one combined with multiple features. Firstly, it takes too long to cook rice, double the length it takes in other cookers. Further, the rice doesn’t always cook perfectly and needs to be left longer. As far as the slow cooking function goes, it does the job fine. Steaming takes too long. I tried boiling eggs in the steamer tray also and it took about 25mins. Lastly, the guide and instructions are really limited. You get detail on how to cook rice but none of the other functions! I’ve never felt compelled to write a review on a product before, but I feel very strongly on this product being a dud and I would advise anyone to buy a different product. This is simply terrible in comparison to what else is available.

Easy to use! And comes out a expectation of perfect rice. It is fluffy and pretty nice!

I just recently purchased this as my old one broke. I was choosing between another brand but knowing the brand is Tefal, I took the risk! And now I am in love with it! My rice comes out perfect. Doesn't stick at the bottom which is my number one problem on rice cookers. Highly recommended!

I bought this as a rice cooker and thought the slow cooker option was a bonus. 43 minutes to cook rice is a bit much and not having any recipes to guide me for the other functions is disappointing. Recipes on the Tefal site is for the multi cooker A waste of money, lesson learned.

Really easy to use and clean. It's not messy and cook to perfection! Love it!

Those who complained about length of time for the machine to cook rice got no idea about cooking a fluffy rice. It takes around 40-43 minutes to cook white rice on this machine but the result is perfect, you can't compare to stove top method. If you want the quickest way to get cooked rice, just buy the microwaveable ones and heat it up for 30 sec or just buy rice from any Asian restaurant if your sole focus is the 'quickest way'.

Very easy to use as a rice cooker & slow cooker. Highly recommend.

I don't have one but my mum loves her's. She uses it often. The dishes are delicious that comes from it & ive loved learning how to use it from her.

Tefal's rice cooker brings convenience to cook rice, congee, soup etc. it does an okay job with this multi function cooker. if you are looking for a basic rice cooker, you can go for this onebut if you are looking for something more than just a rice cooker i would recommend to look for other product with the same price range. in addition to this, the Tefal rice cooker has little visibility(transparency) for the "chef" to know the cooking progress and how well it will be done until it is complete itts cooking process so it may give a surprice outcome to me sometimes.
