Tefal UltraGlide Anti-Calc Plus Steam Iron

Designed by an accountant thats never ironed anything, Tefal increased profits by 50 cents by shortening the cord, rendering the product useless for the average consumer. No mention of cord length on the box or on the in store display, it mentions Auto power off though I imagine thats activated by trying to use the full length of the ironing board. I recommend saving this iron for a one day only sale at the start of April, I will return it tomorrow hopefully for a full refund.

Just purchased this iron. Not very good with ironing out wrinkles at all. Poor finish on clothing. Would buy a higher model next time.

The cord length is far too short at 1.8m. At the very least 2.8m is desirable and should be absolute minimum. The short cord is a major flop to the design! Every other brand can manage to provide at least 2.5m to 3.0m cords. The short cord is a design flop and hazard.as you can not use the ironing board as intended.

Do not buy - the instructions are imposible to follow - just very poor quality diagrams!

Tefal Ultragliss Anti-Calc Plus Steam Iron FV6845 the dial won't go to low or the the max and only works in mid range heat - I am returning it.

I bought it today and have only used this iron once. It seemed to do a good job so I am giving it 4 stars on performance. I like the tapered tip which is an improvement on my previous iron. The steam seems to work well and although the highest heat setting is cotton it seemed to cope ok with some linen items today. I haven't tested it at lower heat settings. Cord length could be longer but I managed. I can't quite work out the three steam settings. Like other reviewers I am finding the instructions extremely difficult to understand. The pictures are confusing and the print is grey on white which is very hard to read. I came to the website hoping to find some more detailed written instructions about the steam and non-steam options, temperature settings, safety and care of the iron. But there is simply a downloadable copy of the same awful instructions that came in the box.

Bought this iron a couple of weeks ago and was initially very impressed with it.. was in the middle of ironing some cotton shirts this evening, using the steam function and perfectly happy with my new iron. All of a sudden, after lifting it upright from one side of one shirt, it’s decided to turn the heat down on the sole plate and won’t heat up again. I have switched it off and then back on but even after waiting ten minutes for it to heat up I can place my palm flat on the sole plate and it is barely luke warm!

Tefal is a great brand, I have use other brands, but always go back to Tefal irons

I've had this iron for just over two months. It is supposed to be anti-calc but it has suddenly started to spit brown water whenever the steam function is used. I can't understand how to make this stop. I am thinking about dumping it and buying a Sunbeam again.

I bought this iron on sale from here. This iron is amazing. Very easy to operate and iron clothes.

I like this iron only had it a few days the black switch for the type of steam ratio required is stuck HELP

I find this iron excellent in it's performance. However I find the manual so difficult to understand. Instead of all the pictures, why not put next to each item a description? My previous irons manuals were so simple to follow.

I bought this iron yesterday after checking the weight of a number of new style irons. but oh I do wish I had paid more attention to the earlier reviews because I cannot even see the detailed pictures that are supposed to be the instructions for use as they are so small. I will try to work it out for myself, but if that proves difficut I shall be returning the iron. With so many negative comments on this, why doesn't Tefal create a quick guide and make copies available

Good quality Iron and sleek looking also. Feels effortless

This may be a very good iron with many good features. But because the 'instructions' are limited to such confusing diagrams, I have no idea how to use the iron properly. Having a number of features, the instructions should have a list of them, with each feature named, numbered/labelled and explained with detailed written instructions to accompany diagrams. Without this, the features cannot be easily identified and understood. I normally read and follow instructions very comfortably. But I don't think I'll ever be able to use this iron properly because I can't follow the 'instructions'. Until that is remedied, I cannot recommend the iron to others.

The base of the iron I found to be absolutely fantastic. Highly unlikely to get knocked over. I love the xl water tank. The limescale waste bit is the best idea due to having hard water as many irons are clogged due to the build up. The length of the cord is perfect. To iron with this iron is so effortless. It does not take much effort at all to remove lines and wrinkles and if you do accidentally make a line, due to the heat it produces and weight of the iron a little added pressure gets it out no worries. Over all there is no fault I can find with this iron.

So for the past 5 years or so I have been using some pretty terrible irons. The opportunity to test and review Tefal's Ultraglide was a shine of light, well I was hoping anyway. I'm a bit excited to do my most hated choir with washing up the dishes. My clothes and I look great, I have damaged anymore nice shirts, so I'm saving a lot of money too, thank you so much 1

Having not had a new iron for years this was a nice surprise to try this! It worked brilliantly and was easy to use! Definitely recommend.

The sleek look of the Tefal iron won me over. It was spotted in my laundry and it was commented it looked space age! Ironing was an absolute pleasure with this iron. Smooth and easy to use. Quick to get through that growing ironing pile, without the need for a quick re-press before wear. The steam function was great, good canister to hold water. Loved the anti-calc and easy clean at the bottom. Lengthy cord, great for manoeuvring. My only dislike was the weight, with a full water canister, otherwise im in domestic love with this iron.

Was easy to use, a great product. It heated up quickly and steamed my shirt really nice, im not normally an ironer, but i was really wowed with this iron.

An awesome replacement after 15 years! The Tefal Ultraglide Anti-Calc Plus Steam Iron is perfect for all we iron - including work clothes, uniforms. The surface of the face is a perfect size for the clothes we have. The steam function removes the creases from linen but doesn't give so much steam that it burns you. I love it!

A very quiet iron, even the steam system. My husband said it was ‘very slick!’ He loves using it to iron his clothing… and mine too. Can’t keep the Tefal away from hubby. Thanks Home Tester Club.

The Tefal Ultraglide Anti-Calc Plus steam iron irons extremely well. The steam and spray function are excellent. However, I feel the button for the steam function should be on the top, not underneath the handle as this made the handle a little uncomfortable for me.

This iron was lightweight and made me look forward to ironing and keeping my clothes and linen looking nice and pressed. It is lightweight and easy to hold and to use. The steam function worked well from the first iron. I used it to iron my cotton tea towels, dinner napkins, and sheets. It’s easy to use and works well. It cools down quickly too and it looks good and stylish.

Instead of my regular iron, I have used this Tefal one to iron the uniforms. OMG one glide took all the creases were gone. Didn’t need to repeat on one spot. Amazing. I love this iron.

The results that this iron gives with such little effort is amazing! It’s a solid iron which glides through fabrics with ease. We love the range of settings and the amount of steam it produces and how quickly it heats up!

So happy I got to review this product. Ironing is such a chore, but this iron makes it so quick and easy. I love it! Great features such as a great stable base, super smooth glide and lightweight. Ten out of ten in my book.

I liked using the Tefal Ultraglide Anti-Calc Plus Steam Iron. The water compartment was easy to fill, the base was wide enough for the iron to stand on and it had good steam. It was easy to use and worked well on a variety of materials and clothing. I really liked the added option of the calcium collector. My only negative would be that the dial was a bit hard to turn and it took me a little while to find the right setting for some of the items I was ironing. But I’m sure with frequent use that would no longer be an issue. Overall a really good iron that I would buy and recommend.
