Do Not Buy!

My doctor has been treating me for weeks for the most painful mouth, swollen tingling lips, gums that bleed when I brush. It feels like the inside of my mouth has chemical burns. I finally realised it was my toothpaste. I changed brands and my mouth is now recovering. I have used Colgate Total for years, but with this new formula, I won’t be going anywhere near the brand again.

Do not buy this product!

Like other reviewers of this product, I have had a terrible reaction to this toothpaste. After using this product, my mouth feels very sore and appears ulcerated and red. I think this product should be discontinued as it is clearly impacting lots of people. I have always trusted Colgate as a brand but this has caused me to turn to other brands. Very disappointed.

Painful oral mucosa

Since I started using this new toothpaste, the mucous membranes in my mouth have become inflamed and swollen. It feels painful as though I have tiny cuts in the areas underneath my youngest and lower oral cavity.

Painful allergic reaction, blisters and tenderness

New Colgate Total caused an allergic reaction, blisters and tenderness in my mouth, my gums became much more red and got a painful sensation like lots of cuts inside my mouth. This never happened with the old Colgate Total formula. I switched off Colgate total and the pain totally went away. After some reading on reddit, allergic reactions to the new Colgate Total are quite common

Colgate total active prevention toopaste

I tested this toothpaste over 7days. I noticed straight away that this is quite a overly foamy toothpaste, having to spit out the build up numerous times while brushing. Its pleasant tasting but doesnt have that fresh clean feel once finished. Maybe if it was more a minty/menthol tasting it would. As a all round toothpaste it does the job it meant to do, I feel there are other toothpastes out there that I would choose over this one if I had to purchase again.

The Toothpaste That Thinks It’s a HERO

Fights plaque, bad breath, and gum issues like a champ but tastes a bit strong for sensitive mouths. It's a superhero defo!!

Colgate Total Toothpaste

What a convenient toothpaste design lid. It snaps off and on easily, allows you to store it on the bench standing up, taking less space. Is minty in taste, but not overpowering. Leaves your teeth feeling clean and refreshed after using it. I can’t stop licking my teeth. It feels so clean!

Solid toothpaste

This toothpaste was fine, but honestly I didn’t really see much difference after using this. It was fine and nothing to complain about, but I prefer my Colgate whitening toothpastes.

A decent product

Cannot speak to the antibacterial claim of the product; however, the toothpaste brushed well, it doesn’t appear to contain alcohol so it’s not too intense for the mouth. Further, it doesn’t contain any specific “flavouring” but still leaving your mouth feels refreshed afterwards.
