So versatile and a lot of potentials!

There is a bit of learning curve but once you know the principles behind the concept you will realise the potentials this little black box can do. It will almost replicate any IR remote. I have been using Sensibo for 8 years now and even the cheapest until is very costly. I can do the same with this only costing $39. Though I might not have the advance feature like exact temp control etc, I already have the basic of turning the unit on off and adjust the mode temp ect via the app. The good thing is this unit can be paired with multiple devices. I have one in the middle of the room and I can contol my 25 year old air conditioner and my cheap Aldi TV. I can turn the air conditioner on on a hot day before going back home or turn the TV off to sent the kids to bed without fighting for the remote!!! while I am away from home, I use the automation on the Tapo app to turn the TV on and for security purpose. I do have another more advanced Smart Samsung TV monitor but the internet remote function is NOT as stable as this. This also serves as a alarm to pair with my other Tapo devices like door/window /motion dector and it is very loud. It is still a relatively new device so there is not much tutorials out there

RUBBISH

In a word RUBBISH, when a device has to be reset one or more times within a 24 hour period over of a number of days it has a big problem, it's firmware is updated every time it's reset. All other tapo smart plugs, buttons and hubs function without any problems, which tells me my wifi, specifically the 2.4 GHz network system is fully functional. It is being returned.

Made my air conditioner smart!

Brilliant, I couldn't believe how simple it was to set up and how everything just worked straight away and so easily. Now I can control my air conditioner from anywhere. It took less than 10 minutes to set up. I've also added the tapo temperature and humidity gauge device so I can remotely monitor the temperature and pre-cool my house before returning from work over the summer. Upgrade complete!
