Not bad for an easy feed. Ok if you want to have an easily prepared light dinner.

So simple. I made this for my daughter. She absolutely loved it. It was also so incredibly simple and easy to prepare. Being able to serve it in the original container is a bonus too. Very reasonably priced.

Quick, Tasty and Great Value - Butter Chicken in a Box. We love Woolworths' ready-to-eat boxed meals, and this butter chicken with basmati rice is one of our favourites. What we like about this range is how quick and easy it is to prepare. It's perfect for when you don't feel like cooking or washing up afterwards. Preparation couldn't be simpler. Just open the box, remove the two pouches - one containing the rice and the other the butter chicken and sauce - use kitchen scissors to cut a small opening at the top of each pouch, stand them upright in the microwave and heat for 90 seconds. Then empty the contents of both into the box (although I prefer using a plate or bowl) and it's ready to eat. Just make sure the pouches are standing upright securely in the microwave so they don't tip over while heating. The butter chicken has a rich, creamy sauce with an authentic flavour, and the fragrant basmati rice complements it well. The serving is small for one person, but at only $4 a box (as of July 2026), it's still outstanding value. My wife and I usually buy three boxes to share, giving us two satisfying meals for around $12. The packaging includes the usual plethora of information, including ingredients, nutritional info, storage and cooking instructions, country of origin and, importantly, the use-by date, which is clearly printed on the top of the box in black letters on a white background. Overall, this is an excellent meal that's convenient, tasty and affordable. It's one we'll continue buying. Thanks, Woolworths!

Bang Average. Not too much to say about this one. Bang Average. Probably not something I would get again unless I had absolutely no option.

Easy lunch. Convenient and filling, but the flavour is mild and doesn't look the most appealing

Just nope! Look it’s convenient if you need something quick but the taste is not there and shelf stable curry just is not right…

Ready meal. It is an okay ready meal. The butter chicken flavour was decent and the jasmine rice made it convenient for a quick lunch or dinner. Nothing amazing, but it does the job when you want something easy. I might buy it again if it is on special.

Handy to have in the pantry. A good option to have in the pantry for a quick meal that is not instant noodles. It tastes alright, not fantastic though. It's not expensive either.
